The photo is from Philippe Halsman’s Jump Book, where he photographed prominent people like Nixon, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Robert Oppenheimer and our man here; Edward Steichen - a truly fascinating man who was among many thing a famous photographer, painter and museum curator of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

I love wild swimming and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to do so in several locations in and around London all year round. It clears my head and gives me a fresh start to the workday!

Euphrosyne ("you froze a knee") Kai, or just 'Rosy', is a bewildered backpacker, a vivid explorer, a terrible chancer, an innocent swindler, an experienced escapist and, as of recently, an interdimensional fugitive after losing several students from a reknowned magic school on an impromptu excursion to the Plane of Fire. Instead of facing the consequences (such as being banned from teaching, probably have some magic restrictions put on her and worst of all; face the wrath of very rich parents) she decided to hide on a different plane til the whole thing had blown over. Look, at 63 she is but a child compared to most other races, but as a human her life is nearing its end and she knows it. All she wants is to live a little longer, experience a bit more, travel a little further... and she can't do that if they arrest her. So it makes sense, right? She's sure those students are fine... It'll build character. They'll thank her for it later. Losing a bunch of students is a backstory directly stolen from Will Kirkby from one of his characters. I just loved it so much :)

Aw thank you so much for taking the time to message me to say such kind words! I’m really happy you enjoy my Discworld character portraits! I hope to do more in the future, there are so many more characters I’d love to draw - it’s my fav book series. I did start on Angua a long time ago but wasn’t happy. I have to give her another go sometime soon! Thank you again :)
