Hanamimidae: the Flower Mimic Pokemon
Started to split the plant mons into their own posters, so I started with the flower ones just cuz
Is it normal for my eldegoss to just.....drop all of its cotton onto the floor?
that doesn't sound normal. usually the only time an eldegoss will be completely bare is if it's been over-harvested; most eldegoss cotton farmers will stop harvesting in the early fall so that the eldegoss can keep their remaining cotton until a new flower blooms. without actively being harvested, eldegoss will slowly shed small amounts of cotton and seeds as some of the fibers loosen, but they'll retain most of their boll.
if your eldegoss has suddenly dropped all of its cotton, that makes me suspect one of three things: 1. intense stress could have caused it to drop significant amounts of cotton; 2. eldegoss do shed cotton as a form of defense, so if you battle a lot, that could have caused the fibers to become excessively loose; 3. your eldegoss may have come into contact with herbicides while out and about, and certain herbicides are known to cause cotton drop in both eldegoss and whimsicott.
so, take your eldegoss to the vet! something is clearly wrong, and that should be your first instinct if your pokemon starts acting unusual.
Still one of my favorite pieces after a while, but would love to make more pokemon art this year! Sword and Shield was one of my favorites for a while!
