“Because you’re taking me back to them aren’t you?” Bucky sniffed hard, drawing a few tears back although he was still fiercely sobbing. “You’re making me trust you and then taking me back because…” Bucky let out a howl of a sob, curling over himself. “How could you do this to me?!”

Killian’s heart snapped in two. After everything they’d been through together, everything they’d become Bucky still thought Killian would bring him back there. Back where’d they’d both been subjected to horrors. He’d never even think for a milisecond about putting Bucky back through that. He slowly started to break down. “I would never...never do that to you. Ever. You know that...”

Killian’s heart sank a bit when Bucky told him not to touch him. It worried him deeply especially because he wanted nothing more in this moment than to be able to hold the shaky form in front of him, to provide comfort to the man he loved. He set his hands by his side. “Okay..that’s fine. I won’t touch you.  Can you tell me what’s the matter?” He switched from speaking to the signing they’d both learned. ‘Would you rather go non-verbal?’

“I would rather you tell me what the fuck is going on.” Everything seemed to be spinning around Bucky, and he was physically forced to put a hand on the ground to try and hold himself still. He was beginning to hyperventilate, each breath coming in hard and fast. Slowly, tears started to roll.

“W-what do you mean? I-I was downstairs and I heard a thud and I came up to make sure you were okay....I don’t know what you mean....” Killian swallowed hard, lip starting to quiver slightly. It wouldn’t take much for him to break down like Bucky was at this point. He was so worried and now he was confused on top of it. What happened that made Bucky so sad and angry?

Bucky turned his face down, doing anything he could not to look at Killian. That was the face of a man who loved him, that was the face of someone who was going to take him back. Of someone who was going to hurt him again. “Don’t touch me.” Tears were welling in his eyes.

“Buck...What’s the matter?” Killian had walked in when he heard a thud. Bucky had slidden to the floor and he rushed over immediately to his fiancé’s shaking form. He reached his hands out for him slowly and carefully. “Hey, hey, it’s okay. You’re safe.”
