headcanons: Ardeth studied literature in college and is excellent at poetry. Jonathan became an author about the adventures of a retired archaeologist who unravels mysteries. Evelyn started helping younger librarians and Egyptologists women to enter the field. Rick helps the orphanage in Cairo with donations and has contact with some of the staff who basically raised him. Alex started wearing glasses when he was 10 years old, like his mom, and has low vision. After TMR, the Medjai and the O'Connells formed an alliance to protect the world. The O'Connells would update the Medjai whenever something strange happened, and the same would happen if Ardeth and the others noticed anything.

i would’ve killed for a red dwarf video game. exploring derelicts as lister with the posse in tow, finding supplies you need but also collecting trinkets. the endless hilarious dialogue options for everyone, especially being able to make choices to piss rimmer off such as picking your guitar up and playing it. fighting gelfs with bazookoids. holly appearing on the main screens around the dwarf and starbug but also on your watch during exploration and she acts as your hint and navi/map feature. inspecting the photos and cutouts on lister and rimmer’s bunks, exploring the different decks and interacting with the skutters, the toaster, the vendies. physically steering the bug, and cat taking over whenever you leave the seat. everyone having a bit of a bicker or background conversation if you’re idling in the game. unlocking so many iconic outfits as you progress. not sure what the goal would be but the concept is so fun i wish it was real
