Fanart following the bonus scene (scene added at the end notes) of the fic Monster :)
They were sitting casually and drinking at the dinning table while Sakura was fluttering around the house thinking about new adjustments to the space which would accommodate the needs, or better yet, energy of all six kids while on vacation when Kiba suddenly grinned devilishy. This got Kankuro's attention. Whatever he had in mind must've been some kind of mischief.
"What was your first impression of Sakura?"
This seemed like a pretty basic question but Gaara choked slightly mid sip and tried to mask it with a cough. He shot a withering glare towards Akamaru who promptly hid behind Kiba.
Seems like Akamaru got some dirt on Gaara.
This also got Sakura's attention so there was no way that his little brother is getting out of it. Gaara sighed deeply resigned to his fate and then lowered his head into his hands while murmuring the answer.
"What was that? Come on, I know I was late and a bit messy, but it couldn't have been that bad of a first impression. I know I was smitten by you on the spot when I saw you on that bench."
Sakura demanded. Gaara cleared his throat and looked away. Slight blush appearing on his face. Kankuro never saw Gaara blush in the whole of his 38 years.
"That wasn't the first time. When I saw you first I thought you were pretty bad at seduction missions."
And like that wasn't enough he nailed more nails to his coffin.
"And pretty old for a first timer."
Sakura screeched indignant while Kiba pulled Kankuro away to a safe distance, laughing histerically, albeit trying to hide in so Sakura's ire wouldn't be aimed at him.
"You little devil, aren't you a bit old to stir the pot like that?"
Kankuro couldn't help but laugh along with him while Gaara was desperately trying to explain himself.
"You know Gaara will take his revenge on you right?"
"Oh, come on, how could've I known he would say something so stupid?! Akamaru snitched on him that he was in the club when Sakura was there. I just wanted to set them up to go again!"
Kankuro laughed and tosseled his hair roughly.
"Gaara never goes, or more accurate never stays in the clubs. He hates the atmosphere. Especially in this city."
Kiba kissed him then, still smiling mischievously.
"Well, what can he do to me, we are here only on vacation? I doubt he has the time or energy to come all the way to Konoha and bother us there. Besides, I have Sakura's protection."
Then he yelled over his shoulder and Gaara's fate was set.
"Hey Sak, don't you think you should remedy that impression?"
