AND THEN they proceeded to not talk to him for what??? days?? weeks?? even when he was the victim of homophobic bullying in front of a whole crowd of people. and then when they decided simon was cool again they didn’t even apologise they just went “want to go to the fairground? :)” as if they hadn’t just ditched their friend through one of the worst periods of his life what the fuck

I don’t know what happen or how it happen, but now i learn that Jason is dead, and something inside of me died with him; I liked Jason a lot and he kept his promises cough cough he was loyal, a puppy with glasses. I liked him, and knowing that he’s dead is really sad.

But when I think of Nico, how Nico might be feeling, now that’s breaking me. Jason was the first person that tried —and succeeded—in getting close to Nico, he showed him support and gave him a friendly hand and acknowledging him instead of glaring, and questioning every breathe the kid took.

I think of Nico feeling Jason’s soul slipping through his fingers, panicking, cursing even and I just can’t bear it. Nico who loved Jason (not in a romantic way, not everything is shipping), and knew Jason loved him back for who he was, must be feeling destroyed, and torn between comforting his own pain and trying his best comfort others who also loved Jason, like Reyna, Frank and Hazel.

Let’s start with Jason and Piper.

They loved each other. That was apparent from the beginning. But still something felt missing. As separate individuals they had great character development. But the relationship in itself felt….forced I guess. Piper was a rebel. She wanted to have control over her life because she never had any. She didn’t get a say about her dad’s job and the schools she was sent to. Being pushed into a relationship was out of her control too. Just because you love someone doesn’t mean you are going to end up with them. Life’s not a fairytale. Piper still cared for Jason but she knew that they would not have something now. Her lines about Percy and Annabeth struck my heart. Yes, Percy and Annabeth were few of the couples who found love in each other and chose each other. Piper and Jason didn’t have the time and circumstances for the same. I loved Piper in this book. She had matured in a way that the girl from The Lost Hero is almost unrecognizable. Jason on the other hand wanted nothing more than happiness and peace. And he understood Piper’s POV.

Second thing, Jason.

He’s my second favorite character. Just after Annabeth. And I think his death was one of most deserving ones. Jason had gained a sense of inner peace. He had accepted his fate and the way he conducted himself was awe-inspiring. He had finally found where he belong and he sacrificed himself to protect his homes. Jason dying was more impactful in a way that others dying were not. Killing off one of the seven or Grover or Nico or Reyna would have either incited rage and sadness or multiple issues like bad LGBT representation and making the characters minor. But killing off Jason incited us all to understand the goodness and selfless nature that he had. Jason didn’t have a dark side. He was a dork and to be honest seemed like the guy living the American Dream. But he chose to give his dreams up and sacrifice himself for the greater good. And that was a very powerful denominator that helped Apollo strengthen his resolve.

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE LITTLE JASON GRACE AND ALL HIS CHILDHOOD

Annabeth- Totally the one that always has correct punctuation, capitalization, and tries to spell the best she can despite her dyslexia. Answers in record time, and always sounds pretty proper when texting. Sends links if she finds something interesting. Definitely has read receipts on.

Percy- Spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and other grammar stuff is literally thrown out of the window. Uses a lot of abbreviations and throws in a blue emoji whenever he can. It can literally be months before he even responds to a text. Always shares funny videos.

Jason- Like Annabeth, pretty professional and responds somewhat quickly. Uses surfer emojis a lot, salty but somewhat glad there isn’t a brick or staple emoji, but get’s gifs that involve them all the time.

Piper- Average in response time. Literally knows all texting lingo in existence and sometimes people have literally no clue what she’s saying. Sends inspo. quotes a lot, and uses emojis pretty frequently.

Hazel- She might be just as bad at responding than Percy (Just kidding, no one’s as bad as Percy). Doesn’t use a lot of abbreviations, texts exactly how she talks IRL, once she finds emojis she literally uses them in every single text she sends.

Frank- Man of few words, he sees your texts but doesn’t necessarily respond. Usually texts back “k” or just the thumbs up emoji when he can. Never initiates convo unless necessarily or if its with Hazel.

Yeah… I watched the fourth season. Some thoughts, some feelings like always.

Personally, I think his humor goes unnoticed by a lot of readers because it is relatively strange and uncommon (a side affect of possessing the INTP personality type).  

Also, a lot of his humor is not necessarily spoken.  A lot of the humor lies in the context of the situation or in his narration.  

Nevertheless, it is present and you just need to pay attention.  

For example, he is very sarcastic…

He also uses a lot of situational irony in his humor…

He is a smart-ass at times…

He is funny when he recognizes tactless or inappropriate topics…

Some of his quotes are hilarious out of context…

His humorous outlook on life is a bit dark sometimes…
