Zane makes a new friend in Ace, who assists with her heist of a giant battle robot back to the past. A mercenary group interrupts the robot heist and gravely wounds Ace, forcing Zane to make a choice. She abandons the battle robot and takes the dying Ace back to her present.

A quick in-and-out heist goes terribly wrong when Zane and Ace get caught in the crossfire of a decades-old feud between a ruthless CEO and a militia leader hellbent on revenge.

After a heist goes out of control and Ace is nearly killed, he considers alternatives to a life of crime, and mourns his deleted future.

Zane and Ace attempt to return Ace to the future, where they discover that Ace was never born in this altered timeline. Ace becomes even more upset when they find that his mother, family, and even the world are seemingly much better off without him. Scott says goodbye to his old timeline, and decides to join Zane on her adventures.

ANOMALY Z S1E5: “A Time for Slime” Rated TV-MA

Zane and Ace search an abandoned city for a reclusive scientist whose formula may be the key to curing all disease... and possibly eternal life. But all is not as it seems.

Only glimpsed in S1E4, S1E9 introduces a paramilitary cult of mysterious robed and masked women. These women and all of their variations scattered throughout the multiverse will come to be known as the Sisters.

Zane and Ace had assumed that every return home from their time travel adventures rewrote the future, canceling out the consequences of their crimes. This changes when they discover access to the Multiverse. Zane and Ace begin encountering different variants of this strange cult in the different timelines they visit.

They are often masked, always robed, always armed to the teeth. Some Sisters are men, but most are women who, somehow, know who Zane is... and become a major pain in her ass.

Who are the Sisters? And who are their Big Sisters? Only time will tell.

[CREATOR’S NOTE: “The Sisters were originally called Little Sisters, but then I remembered Bioshock exists, and it’s being made into a movie. So Sisters and Big Sisters it is.”]

After Ace is released from the hospital and Zane heals him extra quickly with futuristic tech, they attempt to travel back to the future that Ace came from. But the future has been changed, and everything Ace has known is gone.

ANOMALY Z S1E3: “A Vision of Loss” Rated TV-MA

EXT. FUTURE CITY ABANDONED AREA - DAY ZANE and ACE walking down the sidewalk in a run-down neighborhood. ACE is looking all around. Suddenly ACE stops next to an empty lot. He looks at it for a moment, then slowly walks onto the lot. He walks into the lot, then turns to his right and looks down.

ZANE What’s up?

ACE points to the ground.

ACE Here.

ZANE What?

ACE My apartment.

ZANE Oh.

ACE Yeah.

ZANE Bummer.

ACE It was a shitty basement apartment anyway. This is an improvement, I guess.

CUT TO

EXT. A NICE FUTURE NEIGHBORHOOD - DAY

ZANE and ACE are walking down the street of a much nicer neighborhood, with their eye on a specific house. ZANE is looking at a tablet.

ACE It says Jane Freeman lives here?

ZANE Yeah, 76 Wildcrest. According to the listing.

ACE Grandma must have left her the house. That didn’t happen in my old future. They didn’t get along. (beat) This neighborhood looks much nicer now.

ACE and ZANE stop near the house and look up at it for a moment.

ZANE So… We gonna do this?

ACE I don’t know. What if we still don’t get along? Or she doesn’t know me? What if I’m there? Another me? That would be awkward.

ZANE Yeah, can confirm. Only one way to find out.

Meanwhile, a car has been driving down the street, and it pulls up to park the moment they stop talking. ACE looks at the car and at the people inside. He freezes.

ACE (whispers) It’s her. She’s in there.

ACE and ZANE just stand there as JANE, a cheerful older woman, and two younger people, a man and woman who kind of look like her, get out of the car. JANE notices ACE and ZANE standing there.

JANE Hello. Can I help you two?

ACE remains frozen for a moment, but eventually gets the nerve to speak.

ACE Um… No. We’re… fine. We’re lost. We’re looking for someone. Do you know… uh, Scott?

The two younger people are looking at them funny.

JANE Why… no dear. I can’t say I know any Scotts around here.

JANE’S SON Scott Rodriguez, maybe? The boy who used to live at 65?

ACE Um.. no, you know what? I think we’re on the wrong street, thank you.

JANE Okay, dear. Take care.

JANE’S DAUGHTER Come on, mom.

JANE and her adult children go into the house. JANE looks back at ACE before going in.

ACE I never had any brothers or sisters. (beat) She was so… nice.

ACE starts to walk, ZANE follows.

ACE She had me when she was young. Right at the end of high school. She was always kind of… mean. I’ve never seen her so… happy.

ACE stops.

ACE I ruined her life.

ZANE Scott...

ACE She’s happy and has a good life because I don’t exist.

ZANE Scott, this could be at any point in her life. You don’t know what she was like before today.

ACE She never looked this happy and healthy. It’s because I wasn’t there to burden her. Everything here turned out better without me. I shouldn’t have existed!

ACE gestures at everything around him.

ACE Look how nice this neighborhood is now! My very existence brought down property values! How bad do you have to suck to manage that?!

ZANE Stop.

ACE I don’t exist. I'm from a place that doesn’t even exist any more! Should I exist?

ZANE grabs him by the arms.

ZANE You do.

Scott looks at ZANE and calms down a little.

ZANE There is no "should." You exist. Period.

ACE Why? What am I supposed to do now?

ZANE lets him go. She thinks for a moment.

ZANE Listen. I have traveled through time many… times. I have come back from many futures that… maybe don’t exist any more. All the people who may or may not exist now… gone. Because they weren’t my problem. I could have left you bleeding on that floor. Normally, it wouldn’t have mattered. Because none of that would have happened anyway, the moment I went back.

ZANE sighs.

ZANE But I saw you on the floor, and I couldn’t let it go. I couldn’t let you go out that way. So that’s why I jumped on you. Why I gave up a really sweet fucking robot. (beat) Somebody thought you were worth keeping around. Someone who doesn’t even know you. (sighs) That’s all I’ve got. But it has to be worth something.

ACE thinks.

ACE My life did kinda suck.

ZANE Well, you can start over fresh. I have money. A house with plenty of rooms.

ACE And I do what? Be your butler? Your maid or something?

ZANE No. I mean… be whatever you want. I can get you your own place. I’ll… get you an identity. In the past, or here, or wherever you want. I’ll help. I already have everything I’ve ever wanted. I might as well use it to help someone.

ACE thinks for a moment.

ACE Okay. (beat) What year do you live in?

ZANE 2025.

ACE looks back at the house one last time… Then turns back to ZANE.

ACE I want to go to a record store.

ANOMALY Z S1E8: “A Time In Stitches” Rated TV-MA

After a timeheist somehow creates an apocalyptic future Earth, Zane desperately tries to engineer a chain of events that will repair the timeline. In her attempts, Zane meets her “biggest fan” - Dick Paisley, an eccentric inventor who had tried and failed to recreate Zane's Chronosuit. Zane discovers that Paisley may hold the key to saving the planet.

Dr. Fedora Zane is a unconventional scientist, a genius level intelligence, someone not afraid to play fast and loose with the rules.

After secretly continuing research her employer had abandoned, Zane came up with a breakthrough: a “Chronosuit” that allowed its wearer to travel through time. She traveled to a far future where the ecological problems of the present had been solved by weather control technology. She stole diagrams for the weather tech and brought it back to the present, where her employer used it to repair climate change. The company's reward? A big payday... on the condition that she resign and take no credit.

Zane decided that she would keep the time travel tech to herself. After traveling back to the future, she realized that everything had completely changed. A new timeline and a better world had been created. With more brand new, amazing technology to take back to the present.

So she did. Again and again. She sold future technology to the highest bidders in the present day, making the future of humanity even more technologically advanced. And she went back for more and more. Every time, the evidence of her crimes was erased.

Well... maybe not. Because the Sisters never forget.
