She simply nodded, her footsteps light as they traversed. Ruins of a tower lay jagged in the murk, a salamander letting out a noise in the distance. However behind them a small Metal Head burrowed up, the skull gem gleaning as it made its way towards Israel. Annytin drew the pistol and fired at it, killing it in one shot. The body dissolved into Dark Eco and leaving behind the prize. "Twenty four to go." She hummed as she absorbed the Eco and took the gem in hand.
Hearing the familiar sounds of the skittering of a Metal Head, Israel started to turn on his heel to fire before hearing the pistol blast. He paused and watched as the dark eco flowed into her effortlessly, as though it was meant to integrate with her. He knew this was going to happen, that this was the entire point of the program she was cruelly put into, but it didn't make it any less disturbing to him.
He nodded to her, turning his attention back to the task at hand. Twenty four Metal Heads to kill. He was instantly brought to the thought of what would happen when she collected enough of it. That was certainly a thought.
"So how am I supposed to know when you have enough of that stuff? And how far back do I need to stand?" He questioned, feeling like he had to keep an eye on his front, and back now in case whatever dark power she had tried to kill him.
"I... I will know, and... I'm not there yet. I was emptied out back, when.. when we were with the Oracle. It told me it'll help me control it once I deliver the gems..." She frowned, looking at her hand briefly before letting out a sigh.
"At least you don't have to worry about it touching you." She said as she walked forward, her tone lacking any kind of emotion behind it.

"How much of the area do you know?" She asked as she scanned around, ears twitching for any kind of sound, hand on the pistol. "I don't sense any Metal Heads... They're made of Dark Eco right?" She rounded a corner and yet there was nothing in sight. No creatures, nothing.
As they approached the gate that would lead them out of the city to the old town, he paused, looking over at her as she was scanning the area already. Her comment about the Metal Heads being made of dark eco caused his long ears to twitch. Were they? He wasn't privy to the biological makeup of Metal Heads. If they were, that was definitely something he needed to start thinking about.
"I know a little about old town," He started, leading her through the gate into the old ruins of what once belonged to Haven City. "But once we get a bit further into this part of town, they'll become more and more common." He told her, taking his rifle and gripping it tightly.
He had joined the Crimson Raiders to fight back against Metal Heads. That didn't mean he wasn't scared at all. Metal Heads were tough, and he knew each encounter with a Metal Head could very well be his last, especially if they encountered any of the big hitters in the Metal Heads forces.
"Alright. Keep your guard up." He muttered, pushing forward and scanning the area, keeping his eyes especially locked on the dirt below them. Smaller Metal Heads could burrow, and he didn't want to be caught off guard.
"I see... How long ago was that?" She asked, her face blank yet her eyes spoke of a sadness and rage to them. As they crossed through into the derelict section, she would visibly frown. "The water... It's toxic to touch." She warned as she looked at the brown murk.
The look in her eyes wasn't something he expected. It contrasted her face so much, but part of him understood. At one point in Israel's life, he too stopped showing so much of the emotion on his face, leaving it up to the doorway into his heart to tell how he really felt.
"Years ago. I was just a boy." He muttered, trying to push the thoughts out of his head. Looking down at the water under them he nodded. The slums were called that for a reason. Just unfortunate that he also had to call it home. Oh well. It was a roof and shelter. He just wanted to get Hannah out.
"How much of the area do you know?" She asked as she scanned around, ears twitching for any kind of sound, hand on the pistol. "I don't sense any Metal Heads... They're made of Dark Eco right?" She rounded a corner and yet there was nothing in sight. No creatures, nothing.
"Old town...?" She tilted her head as they exited the store, dressed and able to blend in mostly. She still stood out compared to most females they passed, but she at least was dressed and not attracting too many eyes. "If that's where I can find any Metal Heads, sure... but, um... why is it 'old town'?"
He paused as she asked her question. Maybe old town wasn't the right way to refer to it. He referred to it as such, mainly because it made him feel a bit better about what happened there. The real name of it at this point was dead town.
"Well. It used to be a pretty big part of the city but," He paused, frowning for a second as they slowly made their way to the gate that would lead them outside the walls. "The Metal Heads attacked and the Baron fucking gave it up." He said, his eyes scanning the docks under their feet.
"Everyone who lived there was just...left behind. The metal heads they...no one survived." He muttered.
"I see... How long ago was that?" She asked, her face blank yet her eyes spoke of a sadness and rage to them. As they crossed through into the derelict section, she would visibly frown. "The water... It's toxic to touch." She warned as she looked at the brown murk.
"What would the purpose be of having more? If one does the job, then what would having others be?" She asked as she gave the clothes for him to purchase, to be given them back afterward. She put them on and then looked to him. "I suppose... if there is the same, maybe a spare I could understand."
At least the concept of having a spare made sense to her. He didn't feel like she needed to wait around naked for her clothing, but he didn't imagine it bothered her too much to do that. They had met face to face that way, but it still upset him to know she was so...okay with that.
"We'll get you a spare that way you have something clean on standby at all times." He muttered to her, grabbing an extra pair of each article of clothing she had handed him and went to purchase the extra set.
"Now then. You wanted to go outside yeah?" He asked her, looking around as they exited the store. "We're still in the slums, and there's a gate to leave the city located here. The old town isn't exactly safe for normal people, but I don't think either of us fit that bill. That where you want to go first?" He asked her.
"Old town...?" She tilted her head as they exited the store, dressed and able to blend in mostly. She still stood out compared to most females they passed, but she at least was dressed and not attracting too many eyes. "If that's where I can find any Metal Heads, sure... but, um... why is it 'old town'?"
She seemed genuinely excited, especially when he gave her his approval, nodding. "Aye, I am." She says, before tilting her head at some of the tags. "What's with the numbers on it?" She would gesture to the price tags, "Is it some kind of code?"
Seeing her act in such a way when he knew how she was treated and how she acted normally was certainly rather strange to him. It was nice seeing her in such a nice mood and reacting so positively to something as simple as stating that the outfit she had picked out looked good.
"Don't worry too much about that. Just give them to me," He said to her. He'd take the tags up to the front of the store and explain the situation before paying. As he waited for her to hand them to him, he couldn't help but continue to look over her outfit.
"Is this the only one you want? We can always come back for something else if you really want later but we may as well grab it while we're here yeah?" He asked.
"What would the purpose be of having more? If one does the job, then what would having others be?" She asked as she gave the clothes for him to purchase, to be given them back afterward. She put them on and then looked to him. "I suppose... if there is the same, maybe a spare I could understand."

She seemed confused at first, looking where he gestured and went over there. She didn't understand why she had to bother, but she did as he told her, before setting about changing clothes.
After a while, she would come out, seeming quite proud of her attire choices, "Whatcha think?" She'd ask as she attempted to model herself. The outfit consisted of a purple tube top with a navy jacket with matching blue pants and boots, the pants being an interesting choice in design given it was not a solid pattern but more straps and cuts in places.
He waited for a few moments as she got herself dressed, folding his arms as his mind raced with everything they had in mind for the day. A change of clothes was something easy to cross off the list but the other things they were going to be doing? Leaving the city and starting to search for the underground. The underground would take time, but stepping out of the city could always be dangerous, especially if they were searching for metal heads.
Israel paused as she stepped out and looked over the outfit, his face tinting slightly pink as he examined the outfit. After taking it in in silence he swallowed hard.
"Looks good," He said softly, looking away from her now. "Are you happy with it?" He questioned, figuring they can just pay and walk out with it.
She seemed genuinely excited, especially when he gave her his approval, nodding. "Aye, I am." She says, before tilting her head at some of the tags. "What's with the numbers on it?" She would gesture to the price tags, "Is it some kind of code?"
She would nod, following slowly inside, wherein her eyes were wide at the sight of the selection. She would look about in wonder and curiosity, taking time with each fabric and piece before seeming to be combining articles.
"Could I.. try them on?"
Israel glanced around the small establishment before seeing a dressing room. He nodded to her, glancing to see if anyone was in with just a quick once over before he turned to look at her again.
"Right over there. Just make sure you go into the room and lock the door. Don't need anyone walking in on you while you're changing." He said in a gentle voice, his tone quiet now that they were inside a smaller building where his voice could carry more.

She would nod, as if agreeing with him, "Yet it's all so much better than before." She'd sigh, looking down at her hands briefly. She seemed to ponder a question, but then lost it as they arrived at a meager shop. "How does a store work? Do I need to assume the position here too?" She'd tilt her head.
He gave a look of confusion to her for a moment. Assume the position? He tilted his head for a moment and stepped her away from the front of the shop. Was he just forgetting something they'd done earlier?
"The position? No, I don't even know what that means. Look, just find something you'd like to wear and show it to me. I'll purchase it for you," He said to her, motioning towards the door. "You don't even have to talk if you don't want to,"
She would nod, following slowly inside, wherein her eyes were wide at the sight of the selection. She would look about in wonder and curiosity, taking time with each fabric and piece before seeming to be combining articles.

She would nod, moving to follow him toward the sunlight outside. She would look up at the blue sky, taking in the sight and feel for a brief moment. She would look about them as they walked, taking in everything - every nook, every alley, anything and everything.
"So bright... yet so depressing." She'd note to herself.
Her comment caused his ear to twitch. She had spoken it softly enough, but he couldn't help but pick up on what she had said. He glanced around the area. Bright? Yes. Depressing? Yes. But it was home and had been since he was young.
"Much of the city isn't much better. The nicer it looks, the more depressing it tends to be if you ask me." He said to her, walking with her. "Honestly, the happiest people are the one's who are ignorant to the problems around them. Those people are located throughout the entire city. Unfortunately for us, that ignorance is long lost." He muttered, his eyes shifting from person to person as he took her further into the city to find a store.

"Stick together." She replied with no hesitation. Perhaps having now felt companionship and the need to no longer be alone has stirred within her. She would itch at the makeshift clothes she still had, but otherwise seemed content.
"Did she leave clothes? Or we go find some?" She would ask, seeming to be pouting at the shirt, as if it giving it a look would somehow stop it from itching her.
"We'll get you some new ones that you find more comfortable." He said to her. "Then head outside city limits and spend the rest of the day doing some looking for the underground." He told her. Having a plan to stick to would make things a lot easier. Everyday they could repeat the process. Leave town, search for the Underground.
"So lets go get you some threads you'll like, and then we can head out." He said, standing up from the floor and grabbing his rifle, slinging it over his shoulder and stepping over to the front door. "Lets get going."
She would nod, moving to follow him toward the sunlight outside. She would look up at the blue sky, taking in the sight and feel for a brief moment. She would look about them as they walked, taking in everything - every nook, every alley, anything and everything.
"So bright... yet so depressing." She'd note to herself.
She watched him curiously, before speaking. "Well... for one, Metal Heads. The Oracle told me I need their skull gems as payment. Second... it'll give me a chance to test my 'power' in a safe way." She would look to her hands, "I don't want to risk anything..."
He nodded slowly, finishing his food as he thought for a few moments. "Well. I had the plan to go search for Torn today. There's an old town nearby that's outside the city walls. Do you want to stick together for everything? Or do you want to split up for a while?" He asked.
"Stick together." She replied with no hesitation. Perhaps having now felt companionship and the need to no longer be alone has stirred within her. She would itch at the makeshift clothes she still had, but otherwise seemed content.
