How to make succulent babies!
Step 1: Pick leaves Gently twist the leaf near the base, it should snap off the plant cleanly. Good cuttings will be slightly rounded at the ends, and have no ‘open’ wound:
Bad cuttings will not grow, you need to make sure the whole leaf comes off in one go. Bad leaves are jagged, torn, or cut:
Step 2: Lay all cuttings inside on a piece of cloth. I usually put a piece of old scrap material down on my desk and lie all the leaves out in rows. I try not to pile up the leaves, as this tends to promote rot. Do not water at all. AKA no misting the leaves, no watering the leaves, nothing. Everything the baby succulent needs to grow is stored in the mother leaf, watering may rot the leaf before the new plant is big enough to survive on its own! Make sure the leaves aren’t in direct sun, as they will wither before they form new plants. Filtered light from a window is strong enough!
Step 3: Waiting After about 4 weeks you will start to see the first signs of life. The leaf may send out roots first, it may start to grow with no roots. Both are okay!
Step 4: Planting (Start watering once a week at this stage) After 6-8 weeks the baby succulents will be big enough to plant outside! I do this by placing the leaves on top of loose, sandy soil that has not been compacted. I do not bother burying the leaves, as it tends to do more harm than good (you may snap roots/damage new shoots in the process):
I place all the plants together, they don’t really seem to mind! These is how they look after about 10 weeks:
When the plants are big enough, the mother leaf will shrivel up and start to die off:
TADA! You’ve created baby succulents :)
I’m sorry, this is a very beautifully illustrated, informative plant post, but every time I read “Make succulent babies” I put the emphasis on the wrong part of the phrase and expect something.. very… different.
this idea wouldn’t get out of my head so i had to draw it
also, alternative ending:
translation under the cut~

My thoughts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS This is my opinion and no one has to think like me, and I don't have to think like anyone else. But I NEED to discuss this with someone. SPOILERS SPOILERS Am I the only one this salty about Rose's character in the script? Like, i can't belive that I'm angry about this! I can bare with in most cases but I can't. Not with this! At first they show us these photos with the cast of Albus, Scorpius, Rose and their parents with notes from JKR. And it made me believe that they would become like a new golden trio or something. I was exited! But they didn't. And I'm ok with it. They are not their parents, they are different and It's cool. But at least you would believe she would be a big participant into the plot. Ha ha. The script came out. And we meet this braty 11 to 14 years old Rose, judgmental and mean, who in one go leaves her cousin/best friend behind because of one boy. And that's all we know about her. She is a nerd like her ma and a hardcore quidditch lover like her pa. Intense no nonsense Rose. And that's all. I haven't checked how many lines she has (and I will) but they can't be more than 20 perhaps a little more. And the fact that is a script is why I'll never be satisfied. A play works completely diferent from a book, and the script can be interpreted in so many diferent ways by the director and the actor that is impossible to have the same interpretation of it. So now I'm braking my head trying to understand the "whys" of her character. But the thing is that I don't want to make a gess of why would she do what she does. I wanted to read Rose interacting more with Al and Scorpious even if she wasn't their friend. I wanted to see her doing something more! To know how she thinks about the gossip! If she feels even a little guilty when she sees Albus! If she is angry because his cousin prefered a Malfoy boy over her. To know her character better, or at least see a better disclosure with her relationship with Al, other than "her parents told her to" shit. If I'm lucky there will be something about her in pottermore so I'll just wait for another miracle. Scorpiuos Malfoy is the heart braker we were promised. He has mine and I'm so happy about it! The Malfoys were a delight to read. Again and again both father and son shone like stars. They are my absolute favorites in the story. About the ships, I think everyone can be happy because if you only read the script. You can interpret it the way you want to, really, it's like you are the director of the play. And it's kind of funny to see people getting so worked up about it. All of us think diferent so it is obvious everyone will think diferent. Now Voldemort... Is it because of Harry that the plot has to go back to Voldemort? Why not find a new villain. You have such a big world at your hands, infinite possibilities to create something new, but they took the safe way in my opinion. Or maybe it is because of Harry that they went back to voldemort, like a metafphore of the disasters in Harry's life and this time is his relationship with his son. Or maybe they thought that the only way for Albus to understand his dad was to go back into the past? And the thing about Voldy's child reminded me so much to the James Potter fanfiction and I can't remember why... English Magical society is fucking scary! In the first books we saw how bad people could treat Harry if he didn't fulfil the expectations of being the child who survived. In a moment he could go from hero to sucker and vice versa. So I don't see it so weird for poeple treat Albus that way. And with this I think it could be logical for Albus not to see the more human side of his dad. And perhaps Harry, with the responsibilities of his job he hidded behind this image of the hero. Idk I won't even bother with the "wish you weren't my child" part, or this will get too long. I knew it the moment Delfi said her age, hahahahaahhaahhaha. I could smell the plot twist from pages away. And to finish this: Hagrid is the only one who can move my cold heart into tears! Apologys for my bad English and If you readed all this rant you are amazing, even if you agree with my opinions or not. Despite my complains, reading it gave me so much joy, and by the end I felt all I had expected to feel. If anyone wants to discuss about it I'm all ears.
Just finished reading the cursed child and immediately had to draw my favourite thing from the whole script. I love him.
He is so lovely, a cinnamon roll in all of the expression! One way or another I will see that play! Also read the comic of this artist, it's amazing
1. Ah Fai was a chief animator for McDull’s animated features. He’s super cool. Ultimate senpai.
2. Previous post on breakdowns right here
Some thoughts on acceleration and force
I presented this in the order of how I slowly understood the trick of delivering force - first an abstract concept of impact taught by Ah Fai, then a more complicated discovery on the acceleration pattern, last back to a more abstract concept of breakdowns.
Like I’ve previously stressed, 2D animation is everything but one single approach. There’s no one rule that rules them all, but interchangeable ideas with math, or physics, or music, etc. There’s no “perfect” animation either, but what is perceived as organic and dynamic. E.g., using the Fibonacci numbers to animate didn’t bring me a perfect animation! On the other hand, a tiny change in the pattern could already make the feeling of force so much more powerful.
Not so much of a tutorial than a personal experience. I hope you find this interesting hahaha
The Astoundingly Complex Ancient Indian Stepwells
Ancient Indian stepwells captured by Victoria S. Lautman. Rudimentary stepwells first appeared in India between the 2nd and 4th centuries A.D., born of necessity in a capricious climate zone bone-dry for much of the year followed by torrential monsoon rains for many weeks. It was essential to guarantee a year-round water-supply for drinking, bathing, irrigation and washing, particularly in the arid states of Gujarat (where they’re called vavs) and Rajasthan (where they’rebaoli, baori, or bawdi) where the water table could be inconveniently buried ten-stories or more underground. Over the centuries, stepwell construction evolved so that by the 11th century they were astoundingly complex feats of engineering, architecture, and art.
