Garroth and Laurance present themselves very differently and are pretty different. Especially in background and how they deal with conflict.
But they have similarities, everyone does. Sometimes it seems that people assume that if something applies to one it must not apply to the other. And like, no. That's not how it works. They are not ying and yang. They are not incapable of being similar.
Ultimately both of them are virgin losers that are jealous of eachother.

I think mcd Garroth wasn't as pathetic as I would like him to be upon his return in mcd s2 (and later s3). He messed up really badly, I wanted to see this hurt his ego more and see more of him being a bit pathetic after that. Have him beg for forgiveness and all that fun stuff.
Aside of the obvious morality stuff, I think Garroth in the season 1 finale is wild because me, personally, even if I had a villain arc I would never start working in a position directly under my younger sibling where they can decide whatever I do
I saw a "scott pilgrim takes off" edit the other day, and I suddenly came to the realisation that the way Ramona Flowers runs away from her problems kind of reminds me of Garroth.
As in I could definitely see Garroth running away from people like that, we actually see him run away from his problems all the time in canon.
Now Garroth probably isn't cool enough to dye his hair like her or anything so that's where the similarities likely end.
It's was just a realisation I got I guess
One thing I cannot stand is whenever people act like Laurance is significantly better morality wise then Garroth (even before the sk transformation) or vise versa.
Many of the icky things they do are quite comparable despite their heavy personality and flaw differences.
I don't think it's a problem not to include stuff like their entitlement over Aphmau in your rewrite and headcanons, it's fiction and we don't always want to think about real life stuff like misogyny. Especially when they're more then that and they have so much flaws outside of that.
But idk, it ircks me when people continuesly give one of them the benefit of the doubt where they don't give the other. It's frankly hypocritical.
Ofcourse you can be a Garroth fan and criticise Laurance, or vise versa. But I personally just cannot stand it when people act like one of them is objectively much better then the other.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys aaron mcd and mystreet unironicly? Sure he's not perfect but I enjoy his dynamics.
Them puppy boying him was weird and I would have preferred a different approach. The idea of him finally being able to relax and not feel the need to hide himself is what I want for him.
Should they have played fetch with him? No.
Should he get a chance to be normal? Fuck yes!

It takes away one of the main charms Aarmau has as a ship; the fact they were both Lords in mcd. They had a maturity and understanding of one another compared to Garmau and Laurmau. Devotion but no worship.
(Ofcourse Zoeymau outshines them all and this isn't me talking down on Gar and Laurmau).
Regardless of your opinion on ships (I am very neutral), I do think the charm they had came from this. Which just isn't present in mystreet. Both because of Aphmau getting infantalised often, and the puppyboying of Aaron later on.
I generally don't care much for mystreet.
But one hot take I have as that it would've make more sense for Laurance to wear flannels since he was raised in a farm. And for Garroth to be the one wearing the polo shirts and the sweaters on top of collared shirts instead.
Ofcourse, someone's background isn't everything. It doesn't define who someone is. But I still wish we could've seen that Laurance was appearantly raised on a farm in his design and skills. Give that man cowboy boots.
