After reading the book ACRES OF DIAMONDS by Russell Conwell, I am convinced we are all leaving the diamond mines in our own backyards as we travel around the world looking for larger diamonds, when in fact the diamonds we seek are found within us and our hometown, from whence we came. Calloway has served as the Athletic Director of the Youth Recreation of Palm Beach County since its founding in 1965. His love of all sports began early in life and led him from the sandlots of Riviera Beach to the Pittsburgh Pirates farm camp. After returning to Palm Beach County, his love for sports helped him mold the lives of thousands of young people through mentoring and coaching for the past forty-eight years. Many of the young people that he mentored went on to become professional athletes. He always tried to impress upon the young people with whom he worked the importance of becoming responsible, contributing citizens who give back to their communities. He believes that if he can keep these young people involved in sports, and other activities that they will not turn to negative street influences. Artie J. Williams has had many accomplishments in life, but none more important than being a part of M.A.M.A, Inc. founded in memory of his nephew Torrey Donnell Manuel. Artie knows firsthand about the violence that has claimed the lives of many of our young people, so he vows to fight to prevent another mother from suffering the loss of a child to senseless violence. As an emerging academic and researcher, Julius serves as a professor at two institutions of higher education in Indianapolis, Indiana, the USA where his current and past lecture areas include intermediate accounting, managerial finance, risk management, corporate valuation, portfolio management, and financial economics. In 2020, Julius was awarded a prestigious and highly competitive U.S. Department of State Fulbright Program research award in the area of financial technology.

He is the founding pastor of the Transformation Church of the Palm Beaches and the CEO and executive director of JAY Outreach Ministries, a spiritually-based recovery program for men that was created by his father decades before. Both are located in the City. Mayor Felder has a heart for the people and the city he loves and he puts the needs of city residents and the city, itself, first by giving the residents a voice. He listens; he acts. Indeed, since his election in March 2019, he has been working actively to put strategic plans in place that will create specialized opportunities to educate, protect and empower the city's youth, to support its seniors and to ensure that city taxpayers are informed and connected. Also, his goal is to align the city with partners and organizations that will build, develop and support local businesses that will, in turn, create more careers and a stronger economy. Today's Guest: Ann Iles Bertha Ann Iles, better known as Ann Iles, was born in September, 1947, and raised in Lake Wales, FL to William and Cassie Adam's. She was the third child and oldest daughter in the clan. In 1965, Ann graduated from Roosevelt High School. Ann received an Associate of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from Polk Community College in 1970. Ann was introduced to the world of politics when she decided to help her brother Gerald Adams' bid for the Palm Beach County School Board. In 1983, she decided to enter the Riviera Beach City Council race. She was successful, making her and her brother the first siblings to sit on a city council in the State of Florida at the same time. In her bid for reelection in 1985, she made history again, by being the first and only incumbent in the state to be defeated by a write-in candidate. However, she was appointed back to serve out that year when the new person quit. Since that time, Ann has had to devote her energies to caring for an ailing husband, raising a minor grandchild, managing a mentally disabled child and an ailing sibling. Unfortunately, Ann's husband, Kernaa Iles, transitioned from this life on October 1, 2020. Her baby sister, Jeri Lee, made her transition on August 6, 2021. As Chief Operating Officer for CMTS, Yvonne McClain is responsible for the successful execution of all contracts. She has served as Principal-in-Charge on a number of projects, specifically augmenting agencies with on-call support services. Ms. McClain has over 25 years of experience in construction management and is an expert in the management of construction support services. She has successfully overseen more than $25 million in staff support services for large capital improvement programs throughout the United States. Serving as the client lead on municipal owner's representative contracts, she has managed program implementation that includes staffing, outreach, and training. Yvonne serves as the primary point of contact for the clients to ensure appropriate talent is deployed on all programs and appropriate metrics for performance management are in place. Mrs. McClain has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and has lived in Jacksonville, FL since 2009. He served two terms in the early 1990s, at which time he was in his early 30s and was the youngest person on the City Council at that time. 20 years later, the residents of Riviera Beach returned Mr. Guyton to the City Council in 2013, where he served until 2016. Prior to returning to the Riviera City Council in 2013, Mr. Guyton served on the City of Riviera Beach Police Pension Board for four years. Mr. Guyton served as Chair of the Police Pension Board the last two years - of the four. Mr. Guyton also served on the City's Planning and Zoning Board for two years in the late 1980s - prior to being elected to the City Council in 1991. Currently, Mr. Guyton serves as President of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Palm Beach County. He has served as President since the Palm Beach County chapter was founded in 2017. COMTO was founded to provide an advocacy forum for minority professionals in the transportation industry. Angela has three children, four grandchildren and worked for the Palm Beach County school board for several years. Artie is the proud father of one son and has also served in our U.S. Marine Corps. As a young adult, Angela recognized a need in the community and organized an annual school supply drive, benefiting Riviera Beach children. Then in 2003, Angela and Artie's lives changed when their nephew, Torrey Manuel, was killed by a senseless act of violence. Having grieved with their family and watched their sister suffer the loss of a precious son; Angela decided to do something positive. She wanted not only to assist other families suffering from tragedy, but to help prevent these tragedies from occurring in the first place. Through strength, determination, and a desire to make change, MAMA was born. MAMA, short for Mothers Against Murderers Association Inc. is a charitable organization founded by Angela and co-founded by Artie, in memory of their nephew Torrey. Guest: Captain Jeffrey Jackson, Retired Palm Beach County Sherriff Office 561-623-7579 Graduated in 1982 from Pahokee Junior/Senior High School, he had the pleasure of serving in the United States Marine Corp, from 1982 until 1985. While in the Marine Corp, he received extensive training in the areas of Combat Tactics, Field Survival, Leadership, and Special Weapons Security. During his assignment at Naval Weapons Station received several awards and commendations for outstanding personal achievement and meritorious service. After attending Brookdale College in Colts Neck, New Jersey, Jeffery Jackson, completed his active military duty assignment and became a proud member of the Palm Beach County Sheriff Office, where he served as a deputy sheriff from 1986 until 1999. In January of 2000, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. In this capacity, he had the pleasure of serving in multiple leadership roles throughout the agency. Then in 2016, he was promoted to the rank of Captain and held command assignments throughout his agency. His duties and responsibilities would include but not limited to: Staff Oversight, Fiscal Accountability, Strategic Planning and Support to both Law Enforcement and Correctional Divisions.
