Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.

I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.

I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'

I'm Option #1: My middle name is my mom's name. But I'd like to know if that practice is very common or not.

#I have uhhh two but also an additional ex-middle name #my first middle name is my dad's name bc I didn't trans my gender until after he died #and I wanted it #my sister who also transed her gender USED to have it as a middle name (but after our grandfather-- his first and last names her middles)#so I took it from her hermit crab style as we grew into our real selves #my second middle name is a last name from my mom's extended family #and my ex-middle name is just a name my parents liked #conveniently it can be shortened to my name #so if I have to explain my name situation to someone I need to look like a cis lady to #I just say the name I use comes from my government middle name and people think that's very normal of me

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.

make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.

spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.
