The Beauty of Trees - 2019

Does it simply rely in the color of the leaves? Or how grand they sit, reaching for new heights?

How about what they provide for us with each breath we take and release? The shade during a hot summer's day? The fruits they bear for us to enjoy? Perhaps carvings of lovers that come and go with the breeze?

Maybe it's because how long they have been around and how quickly we humans are to cut them down. So glued to our phones we miss such moments of glory and beauty, and before we know it they will disappear.

Solidarity.

The pleasure of being alone, immersed in the silence. It has a stigma though - antisocial, depressed, moody, etc. As an introvert I know this all too well.

Everything that happens... happens within. Look past the self involved world we have become accustomed to and see that alone there is beauty too.

Togetherness.

The crisp smell of meat sizzling within the grill. The sound of water splashing as a dog leaps into the warm pool. The laughter and conversations as we catch up on missed time.

Food may just be food to some but for my family, it means so much more...

Finally developed the first ever roll shot on the Autocord with film I've never heard of or used before.

It gives the feel of shooting on an old Polaroid; a sense of nostalgia as it's natural filter.

There's a sense of longing when I look at some of these, an emotion that is sometimes lacked nowadays in the digital world. For instance the bench that holds secrets of hushed lovers, maybe the pool that longs to be fulfilled with its owners, or perhaps the dog that wants to venture wherever you go for he loves you more than he loves himself.
