Hubs was on a weird kick a few years ago where he kept leaving the garage door up/the house wide open at night. Some of you that have been here a while may remember my rants. I went totally off on him about it after like the 3rd one, I mean absolutely melted DOWN, and he hasn’t done it again.
Until yesterday. I was up before him and found it up and the doors unlocked.
So I went off. again. and also told him i was sick of him not understanding, or caring (?) about the danger of such a thing.
But I told him that me talking about it apparently does fuck all, so the next time I catch that mf up, I won’t even tell him. I’ll just call the door people (who did the one we put in the other house about 2 years ago) and he can just cough up another 5k on a new setup in this house, that will allow me to close it from my bed. (Then I guess I’d just get in the habit of checking from my phone every night around midnight/ after he’s finally in bed). This is a threat that might get his attention because he’s not planning to replace that door for another 2 or 3 years and money always gets his attention.
It’s just so exhausting, the bullshit he does.
What’s worse is how he’s got the balls to scream and get mad at ME for being pissed that he’s putting our family in danger. He acts like we’re in Mayberry or some fictional place where terrible people aren’t doing terrible things all the time.
This is a WAY bigger deal to me than it is to him and I don’t know how to get him on the same page with me.
So I guess I’m going to ignore him for a few days. That also gets his attention. I hate playing stupid games like that, but this man is very hard to “reach.”
