cold hard passing tips for ftm
Iâve been passing successfully as a gay cis male for three years now totally pre-op so I thought Iâd share some tips Iâve either really liked, or never seen anywhere else. this might be long Iâm just gonna go off about it. oh, and this is from a brutally honest transmed view so if u canât handle it bye
First, your hair and face. if youâre skinny, you got a one up. guys have naturally more angular faces and being thinner makes ur bones poppin. hairstyles to avoid are anything that is obviously high maintenance. this includes crazy color dyes, âunder-cutsâ, crazy amounts of product, etc. having long hair is actually preferred to those styles, because it can be styled in a more masculine way by either parting in the middle or pushing it all back in a more messy way aND it can frame your face to hide feminine angles. buzz cuts are a no go. they make u look like a lesbian. if youâre getting a short haircut, make sure itâs squared off and spiked a little. curler hair can also do wonders to hide feminine faces, however b careful because curls can be considered fem hairstyles. guys tend to have messier hair, so keep it in a style that requires minimal upkeep during the day.
the thing abt shaving ur baby hairs off ur face⌠I donât understand it but if it works for u go right ahead. guys, especially teen guys, do not have perfectly clear skin. a little bit of acne is your friend, covering it with makeup, or actually any makeup at all is a dead giveaway. donât do the âmasculine facial contureâ thing people will be able to tell. donât shape your eyebrows at all, guys usually wouldnât and would have thicker messier ones. my natural hair color is red, and my eyebrows are a lighter brown/blond color. DYING them, not filing them, with a darker color also adds to the manly look of your face. dying them dark will make them look like bushy caterpillars for a few days but I promise youâll look fly when they calm down. also, try and stick with a hair color natural to your skintone. if you have darker skin, stay within the browns and blacks, just try not to use an âasianâ black, as those tend to have bluish undertones and look unnatural unless youâre. .Asian. if you have lighter skin, stick with blond to dark brown. stay away from too dark black. if you go blond, try a messy dirty blond.
mkay so onto piercings. studs or gauges in the ear are v good, but try and keep the ears bare. lip, nose and eyebrow are gucci and might even make u look more masc. stay away from tongue, bellybutton, and cheek stuff.
with ur body, I guess either bulk up with muscle or lose a lot of weight. with both of these, try and be healthy with it. for bulking up, focus on muscle building and up your fat and protien intake. avoid foods with excess sugar. for becoming leaner, cut down on your caloric intake and focus on cardio. both of these will minimize your chest. bulking up will make a binded chest look like pecs and slimming down will make a chest bind more flat. being âchubbyâ and passing is basically impossible. women naturally have more fat than men, and men naturally tend to be slimmer and more muscular. fat only accentuates ur girly bod. you want to look like a V shape, or a box.
Okay so for clothes. important !!!!!! you can be whatever style you want and still pass. you just gottaaaaa adjust to the boy version of it. first things first, guys tend to wear toned down color, or monochrome with one poppin color. but not a whole ass outfit in bright red u feel me? clothing that is almost always masc are gym shorts, hawaiian/patterned shirts either on a tshirt or plain, items that are spiked or studded, sleeveless shirts (not tanktops itâs different), button downs, caps and khakis. I know some of those things might sound awful to you but hey depends on ur style m8. stay away from tight tshirts, womenâs skinny jeans, any womenâs pants, beanies (sry guys), and most fandom-esque clothing. I know it sounds weird but like when ur tryina pass wear maybe one fan piece at a time. donât know why but it helps hella. when u wear a tshirt , try rolling up the sleeves to give the effect of sleeveless. this adds a little âbumpâ to your shoulders and can make them look wider. sleeveless makes your body look like a square kinda which is good. hoodies, layers and jackets are good, they can slim you down and hide your chest and curves. too big or too baggy will destroy the effect tho. pants, buying skinny jeans is actually good if theyâre mens. I usually get them a little big so itâs baggy around my ankles and butt. thicker belts (I use a studded one) can cover your hips, and make there be a reason for the wider area. bigger or flatter shoes make your feet look bigger and your legs look thinner. skate shoes, boots and athletic shoes are very masc. if youâre larger, cargo shorts or gym shorts can hide feminine body shape. jeans will just show it off. for swimming, I just use a binder and swim trunks, but a tight swimshirt over the binder usually makes u look like u have pecs. with clothing small things can be giveaways, like neon colored ankle socks or too much bling. keep jewelry to a minimum, maybe just a necklace and ring. bracelets are ://// but wrist bands are good. they make your forearms look bigger.
last thing I can think of is like how u act. this can be hard to change bc sometimes u donât know youâre doing these things. I still have issues with this song times but a big one is hands on the hips. any illusion of male body done by clothes is broken by that. Walk with your shoulders and core, not hips. cross your legs as a box instead of over one another, and sit with your legs apart. donât move around as much in your area, stay more steady and stand in a way that looks relaxed, not trying to seem smaller (lots of girls do it unconsciously). to make your voice more masculine without making it deeper, try controlling your voice when you get excited. for girls it tends to get high and giggly and shit. try and give off a chill vibe ig? guys donât tend to show their over excitement about things. idk if this all makes any sense lol
but I tried so like I hope someone gets some help outta these tips lmao
