WATCH AND BE BORED!

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 21 - Happy Halloween!  And finally the last drawing of this inktober fest. I think it’s time to reflect on what has been on my mind after i talk about this drawing! For this inktober drawing i have been looking through JRPG’s and some of Akira Toriyama’s other works. So i thought: well it’s halloween, why not give them a cosplay-esque makeover. I have combined some dragon quest monsters with some other jrpg series such as Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger(you have to look really closely in order to understand the concept) and the Queen Slime in the Tales of series!  ‘’But why is future Trunks from DBZ there, wearing a hat?’’ That is because it’s Terry! Terry from Dragon Quest 6 being my most favorite character of the series. Looking at both Trunks and Terry they kind of remind me of one another. Trunks and Terry both having a great sword, light hair and are both some of my fav characters of all time! So i thought it was right to combine the two together. I hope you all enjoyed my journey and I will make sure to take all of the things i have learned and yet to learn into consideration and i will make sure that next year will be even better. Also about Dragon Quest 9 that did not make it in, I will work very hard on that and release it at some point. I want to capture something big like what the series has done for me seeing that it was the first game i have ever played in the series. Selfreflection Now that it’s over i think i should state the obvious. I am sorry that some drawings are not up to my standards and that some of them are just not really good looking at the very least. But i have learned alot along the way and I know just about what i need to do for the next 11 months inorder to improve. I might do all of this all over again and make it a part 2 with different monsters and characters doing stuff. Things i need to improve upon: - Human proportions - background and nature - posing - clothing and ripples - shadows

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 20 - New Hero. I am unhappy with this one since i was just so done. Looking at art of the new hero of Dragon Quest 11, there just isn’t much i can find of this guy, heck, even Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Quest Illustrations book, only features 2 illustrations which everyone has already seen (but i do have to give it up to it’s high detail. I want to do this over again when there is more info about the hero and more lore from the game he is from. (same goes for Dragon Quest 10 since i have never played that game in my life and i just want Nintendo of Europe to localize it already since it can be a good thing for the Nintendo Switch) Absolutely disgraceful.

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 18  I actually don’t have a title nor do I really know what I was doing!  I guess I really went for a childrens story book and I felt it was done pretty alright! from here on I felt as if I was going to quit since it began to be painfully hard on me for figuring out what I needed to improve and try.  Don’t get me wrong! I was pretty glad I made this one!

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 17 - Happy Birthday, Gooman. If i have to be completely honest, i was out of ideas but seeing that a really good friend of mine was having her 18th birthday, i decided that i put 2 cuties into one!  I rarely make small drawings like these (this is infact the smallest drawing out of the bunch!) but it felt really good! I feel happy i did this for her, and she seemed very happy with it also! The reason why i skipped a day is because I couldn’t finish it. It was too difficult for my own good and I was kind of stressed out...I AM SORRY OKAY?

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 15 - Treevil Oh man these guys are fun to draw! As a kid i have always been facinated by trees. But My drawings involve more human that nature. So the day before I made this I went outside and drew trees on a cold sunday afternoon (it was about 8 degrees celcius and it was getting colder and colder by the minute) If i have to compare against the sketches and this one, I like this one the best and I already am making plans to spend more time painting nature and such. I am satisfied with this drawing!

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 12 - These demons are a little different. HELLO All my inktober drawings will be posted per hour! I am very sorry for the delay but to be completely honest, the scanning was a pain in the butt. I am very satisfied and I would put this on my top 5 drawings made on inktober. I took huge inspiration from King Frost from the Shin Megami Tensei series but I had vague memories of that game so I told myself to make a drawing based on what I thought i saw and instead of Jack Frost’s, I would have to use slimes instead. Looking back on it i am really satisfied on how it worked out (just like other monsters i have drawn and the monsters that come after this one (trust me I think I like the monster drawings better than the human characters I have drawn this month) I am a huge fan of the way how King Slimes look so I might make some drawings of it here and there.

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 13 - faithful little....Munchie? I am quite satisfied with this drawing especially i have not played this game in the series yet (even though most people will tell me that it’s the best game in the series!) I tried to make the fur as fluffy as possible so i refused drawing lines on his body for the most part in order to show his cuteness. It was a good try out in my honest opinion.

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 10 (Tough Guy Tattoo) + Day 11 (Squish) These are a little different! I had fun with these (even though the one of day 11 could be done a little better....) Day 10: I am quite happy with this one. I kept one thing in which you don’t see in other drawings shich is the sketch lines! I wanted to show you all that I do indeed need to pencil through before inking since going in ink-first can be a huge chore and really difficult!. I might make one drawing where I don’t even sketch beforehand just to see what I can do! Day 11: The lovable fairy. I really liked his character design along with Maribel’s (whom i wanted to draw first) I wanted to draw him instead since he is basically the icon of the changes made on the Nintendo 3DS version of the game (which you should really get because it has the best quality models in every 3DS game to date! AND SE WANTS TO BRING 10 AND 11 TO THE WEST IF PEOPLE BUY BOTH 7 AND 8 IN HIGH NUMBERS) I could’ve done the arms better.........oh well! More stuff coming today! so stay tuned!

Dragon Quest I:nktober - day 8 (Hero DQ5) + day 9 (Ghost n’ hats) Late again, aren’t I? Well I wasn’t really happy with the way how the both of them turned out so I was kind of sad to release the both of them! But don’t worry! because I have everything ready from the previous days!  Day 8: I was going for something a little bit more emotional (and I screwed that up big time...) since the hero in that game is going through alot ever since he was a 6 year old kid. I might redo this aswell as the next one (nice segway bruh) Day 9: I wasn’t really going for the characters but more or less going for the hats. I am terrible at drawing hats so i used this monster in order to try and draw them.  Also a shout out to my friend @kehmy-ludie since I was going for the hats she had drawin her own inktober! (hence the reason why the girl in the middle has absolutely no relation to the DQ series!) I would really like it if you guys went over to her tumblr page and check her sick artwork! I got some better stuff coming up soon so stay tuned!

Dragon Quest I:nktober - Day 7 - Prestifigitator  This was a fun drawing this monster! I love the way he looks and trying to draw his hands ware awfully hard! Seeing how he looks on screen I thought: Wow it looks as if he is having the time of his life, so I thought he would be the party animal amoung all the monsters in the series (who also wears the Snuggie AS SEEN ON TV!) To all of you who have followed this series since day 0, thank you so much for sticking with me! Even seeing one person liking my pictures, I feel really happy! So thanks and please stick around because we have many more days to come!
