It's funny what things can give species euphoria.
Like one of the features of my theriotype that I am aware of, is the pinkish skin around the nose, eyes and ears. And whenever I just wake up in the morning and sleepily look at my slightly red-rimmed eyes in the mirror, I get euphoria heheh ^w^

"You're really bad at reading body language" well of course I am. Your ears don't pin back and your tail doesn't even exist to lash! You don't even really snarl. And you're telling me that baring your teeth is supposed to be a sign of friendliness, not aggression or fear?? What am I supposed to be seeing here? What are you on about?
My hearthome is countrysides and farmland, and I'm on a drive through the countryside with my dad rn, and just looking at the fields and the little lakes and the ducks waddling through the grass, I could cry with longing π
Does anyone else have a longing for a place they've never known? Like a pining for a world, sometimes you think you can almost see it, but you never do. Although you know what it feels like and you have pictures and places that make you feel closer to it.
And for me it's not related to anything I have ever known, it's very disconnected from my current life. And it's not a simple "I'd like to live in the countryside one day :)", it feels like it comes from somewhere deeper than that.

I've been questioning if I have a goat theriotype for quite a while now and I've recently had two alterhuman friends say that I genuinely seem goat-like to them sometimes! I feel validated in my questioning and very happy ^w^

I'm enjoying the first non-boilingly hot day outside in several weeks, though I have to say, it has been an exceptionally mild summer for Texas.
Just watched my cat walk by, the house is completely silent and no matter how hard I strained to listen I could not hear her little paws hitting the ground. I LONG for that ability π I LONG FOR TOE BEANS

My brother got a present (happy birthday to him) and I was talking about how I wanted to keep the cardboard box and my mum jokingly said "I think you're actually a cat inside" AND I WAS LIKE?? HOW DO YOU KNOW??? XD

Therian things is longing for a tail to curl up with and be all cozy like. I wish I had an extra long fluffy tail so I could use it as a blanket.
Really hate humans (and nonhumans too, if you do this, stop) using Koko as an example of ape intelligence. It really shows they know nothing about her, even that she and no other 'signing' ape have ever really learnt coherent sign language.
There's lots of intelligent things that theriform nonhuman apes do!
And yet, every example is shown through the lens of 'how much like a human is this' when discussed. Not just with apes but with any theriform.
Theriform animals are smarter than humans give credit but not because of proximity to human behaviour.
And please please please can everyone stop assuming they know what theriform animals are trying to communicate by anthropomorphising their behaviours π
its so interesting that a lot of humans only seem to accept something as language or communication when its done in a way they understand.
a lot of animals communicate nonverbally too through smells and gestures. body position, tenseness of the body, the face, how open the mouth is, what tone the noise is in, context, history. theres so many small small cues and communications humans seem more than happy to ignore because it doesnt fit their idea of communicating.
yes, theriform animals have language. they have culture. it doesnt look the way it may look to humans but that doesnt mean it isnt there.
an ape shouldnt have to learn asl or "gsl" to be listened to. to be respected. they communicate plenty, you just have to be willing to learn their language.

I went to a cattery today and met a whole bunch of friendly little kitties!! ^w^ I love being around fellow felines β‘β‘
I hate to admit it, but I feel more like a wolf than human, I feel so out of place in the city near other humans. I'm not one of them mentally but physically, I am. Every time I see a canine, it feels like a part of me, I lost many moons ago, and I long for the mountains to feel my paws on the grass hunting running, surviving.
