Tifa’s words hit him first, and caused a surprised expression to appear on his face. He let them sink in.
She had always loved him. Ever since they were kids.
He’d spent so much time agonizing over weather she really did like him, that he was blind to any signs she was giving, if she gave any at all. He was about to berate himself for being so stupid, but he stopped when he felt hands in his own. Both Tifa and Aerith’s hands covered his own.
He looked from the hands, to Tifa, then to Aerith, before he finally let it sink in that they were both officially his girlfriends. What did he do to deserve such amazing women? He supposed he’ll never know.
“I’m… so happy…” Cloud wasn’t usually one to deal with emotions, but this one was strong and hard to ignore, “I promise I’ll be a good boyfriend. You can count on me.”
Tifa was shocked to hear Cloud’s words. He was a man of little emoting, especially expressing how he felt verbally. Hearing him say he was happy, it made her smile and squeeze his hand. Then, she glanced over at Aerith, the maiden’s smile like sunlight. Tifa wondered if it was possible for a dream to become true.
If she was truly awake in this moment or if she’d wake up sad and alone.
Nodding at his words, she hummed to herself in thought. “Well…I’m not sure how any of this works, but maybe we can start with a date?” That was what couples did, right? Go out on dates? Test the waters and see how interactions could work?
Blushing now, she swallowed thickly. “Is it…is it strange that I really want to…um…kiss you? Both of you?” Forward? Very much so for Tifa. But she was riding the high of so many revelations and her words just sort of tumbled out.
Aerith’s heart fluttered. She looked at Cloud first, then Tifa. Really, she kept reeling over how unreal it all was and how absolutely happy she was. It was amazing that they, too, felt the same way.
With a relieved sigh, she nodded in agreement, eyes crinkling with joy. “Yes! A date would be perfect! We need to celebrate!”
Tifa’s boldness threw Aerith. She stared at the beauty with surprise, eyes widening just a bit as the words washed over her. Then, elatedly, she dipped forward, pressing her lips to Tifa’s. With a gentle kiss, Aerith spoke softly, “It’s not strange at all.”

“You don’t have to be embarrassed.” She gave her hand a squeeze of encouragement and pulled back a bit. “After all, we’re together now. You can kiss me any time the feeling strikes.”
Green eyes flickered to Cloud, dark lashes fluttering in a flirtatious manner, “That goes for you, too, Bodyguard.”
