so rewatching Digimon adventure again, as i do, and absolutely heartbroken because when they're all saying goodbye to their digimon kari tells gatomon its 'goodbye until next time' and tk tells patamon 'promise that we'll see each other again'

tk and kari are the only two from the main group who get updated digivices for the new gen, yes it could be because of their age, but what if it was also because they didn't expect that it was the last time they'd be in the digiworld like the rest of the original eight did?
