alright, i'll be the one to say it. ao3 and tumblr becoming "mainstream" did so much damage to the community and the writers. i have seen loads of videos and posts about:
1. people hating on writers and fics. writing is something we do for free and for fun. if you stumble upon a fanfic that isn't necessarily your cup of tea or you just don't like, scroll. dont read it. literally leave their page. you don't know if this could be the author's first work that they're so excited about, you dont know if the language they're writing in isn't their first language, you dont know that the writer could be a literal teen and loads of other reasons. fanfictions don't HAVE to be perfect. you write what you want to write because we do it for fun and enjoyment and we want to share that to the world. seriously, what is the wrong with that?..
2. x reader consumers getting WAY too entitled. the number of tiktoks i've seen that say "i run a strict program when it comes to reading fanfics." girl you aint running shit. this is FAN FICTION you're reading. F A N F I C T I O N. there is no denying that most fanfiction writes are beyond talented but just because you read one fanfic that exceeds your expectations doesn't give you the right to talk down on others that don't. people have their own personal writing style, their way of doing things and you talking shit on that isn't right.
at the end of the day, we are all humans, reading and writing is what we do and what we're meant to do. and for you to talk shit about a person WRITING is so insane. we are humans. not some robots that you can tell what to do so you can consume it.
i've seen so so many authors take down their fanfics and losing all motivation to write because of a hate comment. DONT LIKE DONT READ‼️
and to every author reading this, this community values your work and your contribution. we love u and, please, never let anyone's negative words have an effect on you.

Summary: Giyuu (along with Kanae and Tengen) became a Hashira before Sanemi. That means Giyuu would’ve been attending Hashira meetings before the Wind Hashira ever joined. So, what if the Reader has also been a Hashira for as long as Giyuu, and the two have always been close — often going on missions together, forming a strong bond over the years? Once Sanemi becomes a Hashira and starts attending the meetings, he quickly grows close to the Reader as well and notices the strong friendship between them and Giyuu. , Over time, Sanemi starts to feel something deeper — maybe jealousy, curiosity, or something more romantic — and begins to pick up on the subtle dynamic between the two. Would Sanemi eventually confront Giyuu? Or the Reader? Or both — maybe after a particularly tense Hashira meeting?
Part 2 - (coming soon)
The latest Hashira meeting wraps up with a tense report on Upper Moon activity. The room slowly empties, but Sanemi lingers, pretending to tie something around his forearm tighter than necessary. But, beneath his spiky white-lock, Sanemi's eyes were discreetly fixed on you and Giyuu, who stood near the veranda, speaking softly—Giyuu with that same unreadable look, and you... smiling. Genuinely.
He’s seen it before. Noticed it. But now that he’s had more time to spend near you during missions, heard you laugh a few times, caught you brushing off injuries like they were nothing—you’re starting to gnaw at his mind. And now this. Giyuu. Always Giyuu
(Post-Meeting)
Sanemi’s jaw flexes, and he finally stalks up to Giyuu once you excuse yourself to speak with Shinobu about the Demon activity in the west. The Wind Hashira takes advantage of being the last person in the room to confront the Water Hashira before he exits, “Oi, Tomioka.”
Giyuu turns, only slightly. Always calm. Always unreadable. Sanemi could only barely see his mouth from over his discrete shoulder, "What?”
“You and [Name]. What’s with all that quiet whispering all the time? You two always like that?”
The Water Hashira slowly turns, somewhat sideways - uninterested in the interrogation - yet he blinks when hearing the mention of you. “We’ve known each other a long time. Is that a problem?”
Sanemi scowls, “I didn’t say it was. Just didn’t think you were the type to have someone who talks to you willingly.”
Now, that’s a jab, and both of them know it. Giyuu’s expression tightens—barely. But he responds with something unexpected, like a final wave, “Maybe you should try talking to her yourself. If you're curious.”
Sanemi freezes for half a second, thrown by the blunt suggestion. The dark-haired male walks off without another word, leaving Sanemi to stew in a growing knot of frustration—and—jealousy.
Later that day, you’re cooling off after training when Sanemi appears, still tense, still glaring—but quieter now. It was just the two of you underneath a tree with shade, practical breathing until-
“…You and Tomioka. You two close?”
You smile, thinking back to catching his gaze at the end of the meeting. Nonetheless, you’re just giddy to hear Sanemi talking about the Water Hashira - not thinking much of the comment. “We’ve been through a lot together. Since before most of the current Hashira joined. He’s not so bad once you get used to the silence.”
“…Tch. Still think he’s boring as hell.”
You tilt your head, curious. You or Giyuu never communicated time to make plans ever; no Hashira had time to hang out unless it was a quick bite to eat or training. Even so, you and Giyuu sometimes did those things if free.
“Why do you ask?”
He glances away, muttering under his breath. “Just making sure I’m not wasting my own time.”
It’s late afternoon in the training grounds behind the estate. The place is empty, silent save for the rhythmic thud of Sanemi striking a training post again and again—bare fists. It’s been a bad day. Too much thinking. Too much seeing.
Then Giyuu shows up.
Just passing through, quiet as always. But Sanemi doesn’t miss it—he never does. He hurls one last punch before turning to face him.
There already a vein on Sanemi’s face when turning to see it’s Giyuu, of all people, he was the least he wanted to see. “You got something to say? Or you gonna keep skulking around like a ghost?”
Giyuu, stares for a second, before exhaling, “You’re projecting.”
“The hell’d you just say to me?”
“You’re angry because you don’t like seeing her with me.”
It’s blunt. Brutally so. And it lands like a gut punch because it’s true. Sanemi’s expression darkens, and he closes the space between them in two long strides. “You think just ‘cause she’s known you longer, that gives you some kind of claim?”
Giyuu doesn’t flinch. “No. But I don’t need to claim anything. She chooses where she stands.”
That sets Sanemi off. His hand is on Giyuu’s collar in a flash, yanking him forward. “You arrogant bastard—”
Giyuu doesn’t resist, but his eyes narrow. He’s not intimidated. Not even close. “You’re not fighting me. You’re fighting your own insecurity.”
Fists clench, the Wind Hashira snarls, “I should fight you. Just to get it out of my damn system.”But before fists fly—before the moment can ignite—a voice carries through the breezeway.
“—And I know a really great udon stand in town! We could stop by before patrol, if you want, [Name]!”
Your laugh follows, light and genuine, echoing between the walls. It’s you, with…
Sanemi and Giyuu stare at Tanjiro walking beside you. Beside. You. It made Sanemi want kill the twerp, but he couldn’t when your voice reminded them of your presence.
“Udon before a mission? Sounds like a reward in advance, but sure.”
Your footsteps approach.
Both men freeze.
Giyuu’s gaze shifts slightly, expression unreadable again. Sanemi steps back, letting go of Giyuu’s collar as if it burned him. Neither speaks.
Just as you and Tanjiro pass the archway nearby, you spot them both—standing too close, too tense, too quiet. You slow a little, raising an eyebrow.
“Everything okay over here? You two look like you’re in the middle of a staring contest.”
Giyuu blinks, “…Just talking.” Then you glance at the white-hair male standing surprisingly close to him…
Sanemi simply gruffs, more so towards Tanjiro than you; he turns his back towards the young Kamado. “Tch. Didn’t even notice you walkin’ by.”
Tanjiro grins, ignoring Sanemi's aura, “We’re getting udon! You two should come along!”
You glance between them knowingly, sensing the static in the air. As a Hashira you’ve been informed to train to the best of the capability, but… seeing Sanemi and Giyuu together a lot was still unfamiliar sight to you.
Considering their constant bickering. It felt like staring into the eye of the storm, waiting to brew.
“Only if you two promise not to glare at each other over the noodles.”
Giyuu remains silent. Sanemi clicks his tongue and looks away. But neither of them says no.
You, Giyuu, Sanemi, and Tanjiro are seated at a simple wooden stand under the soft orange hue of dusk. The smell of miso broth fills the air, but the only thing simmering hotter than the udon is the tension between the two Hashira beside you.
Tanjiro, bless his optimistic heart, is trying his best to keep conversation alive. “Shinazugawa-san, your scars must have so many stories. Have you ever told [Name] about—”
Sanemi cutting in, deadpan, “Kid.”
Tanjiro blinks mid-noodle slurp.
“Take your noodles to-go.”
The silence that follows is so awkward, it could curdle the broth. Even you pause mid-bite.
“Ah, right—uh, I forgot I promised to help Nezuko with something—haha—I’ll just… I’ll go—” He’s gone in a flash. You sigh, putting your bowl to the side immediately when Tanjiro leaves, debating to get up and ask him to return, but… something in the air feels different.
“Was that necessary?”
Sanemi shrugs as he slurps a spoonful of noddles, loud for the cooks in the back to hear how good the food is, “I wanted a real conversation. Not background noise.”
Rolling your eyes, and hoping to forget the awful experience that just occurred, you glance to Giyuu. Truthfully, he could’ve said something… but knowing the restraining order between the Wind Hashira and Kamado, maybe he thought it best he took his Udon to-go.
Then you realize… it’s just you, Giyuu, and Sanemi.
And when mentally excluding Sanemi out, it's not till now that you realize… You and Giyuu had never sat down for a one-on-one meal together. You and Sanemi have, but that was because of passing on the same path and both decided to use the break.
However... you never spent time with Giyuu. Only now it’s making you think of today’s conversation with Sanemi regarding the Water Hashira.
Across the table, Sanemi eats in silence.
You can feel his eyes on you, tracking every flicker of thought behind your still expression. But he says nothing — not yet. He knows the guilt is eating at you; so fragile minded.
Giyuu sits across from you, his presence quiet but grounding. The smell of warm broth hangs between you all, the soft clink of chopsticks the only sound.
You toy with your bowl, pushing it slightly forward, then pulling it back. Your gaze slips to Giyuu.
“…Giyuu,” you say, voice low, careful. “Tanjiro told me you two came here before.” He doesn’t answer right away. His eyes lift to meet yours — steady, unreadable, but softer than they should be.
“I remember,” he says. Just that. No more.
You nod slowly. That wasn’t hard to say. It never is with him. But it doesn’t settle you the way it should. There's something in the quiet that’s too… exposed.
The silence stretches — long enough to feel fragile.
Then—
Sanemi’s voice cuts through it like a blade drawn too fast.
“Then I guess he won’t mind if you choose me instead.”
Your fingers still against the side of your bowl.
You look up. His tone is casual, but his eyes are anything but that; he observing the scene unfold.
Giyuu’s posture shifts. Barely. But you see it — the tension that suddenly sharpens beneath his stillness.
“…Shinazugawa,” you breathe.
Giyuu turns his head, finally, to face him.
“You’re assuming I wouldn’t care.”
Sanemi raises an eyebrow. His smirk is slight, but it carries weight. “Aren’t you the one who said she decides where she stands?”
“I did,” Giyuu says quietly. “But that doesn’t mean I’m indifferent.”
He turns to you now, and for the first time—really—there’s something open in his face. Unmasked. Barely restrained.
Giyuu, “…If you could choose…”
Then his voice drops to something quieter. Not desperate. But real. Grounded. Raw.
“How would you choose?”
Suddenly, it’s not about udon or old friendship anymore. It’s not even about rivalry. It’s about you. What you want. What you feel.
Both men are waiting. One’s smoldering and intense, ready to burn the world for you. The other is steady and quiet, but holding a deeper fire that rarely sees light.
Imagine; How would Giyuu and Sanemi compete for your attention? Similarities? Differences?
Part 1 Part 2...
How would they fight for Reader attention?
Well, If Sanemi Shinazugawa and Giyuu Tomioka were to compete for the Reader’s attention, the clash would be hilariously tense but emotionally charged, because their personalities are so opposite—and that contrast would fuel everything about how they try to win you over.
Sanemi Shinazugawa is loud, agressive, and stated from others to have a temper. The Wind Hashira is anything but subtle. If he wants your attention, you’ll know it.
If he sees you talking to Giyuu? Oh, he’s glaring daggers, scoffing loudly, and might physically stand between you. “Tch. You wasting your time with him?”
Sometimes - he considers it a tactic - Sanemi acts like he doesn’t care, but in the end always shows up wherever you are. Just returned from a mission? What a coincidence, you guys both can walk up the mountain to have each other’s backs.
Tries to impress you with physical strength or combat skills. But - similar to his little brother, Genya - Sanemi gets flustered and yells when he catches feelings too strong to hide.
“Whatch you’re lookin at?”
Giyuu Tomioka? Quiet, awkward, emotionally deep. Complete opposite. He’s emotionally reserved, but when he wants your attention, it’s subtle and heart-melting.
He won’t start a fight with Sanemi, but you’ll notice small signs—like him lingering a bit longer near you, or even talking back. At one of the Hashira meetings, Sanemi’s third one, you thought to sit next to the Wind Hashira to show you weren’t ticked off by his brute nature.
However, like an unexpected storm, Giyuu placed himself directly across from Sanemi. Thank goodness it was a short meeting, or else another staring contest between them would've resulted in a fight.
Unknown to the Water Hashira, his acts towards you are thoughtful, like fixing something for you without saying a word. When he finally speaks his mind, it’s direct and devastatingly sincere. His one-liners are unintentionally romantic: “I feel at peace when you’re around.”
Big-brother who looks after little-brother, taking the responsibility of being his guardian and only care taker since their parents left.

An Irrational-Yandere is the embodiment of unbridled obsession, fueled by impulsive desires and an almost primal need to possess. His obsession is more like an illness, an insidious virus that infects his every thought. There is no reasoning with him, no subtlety in his approach. His feelings for you are raw—and they are all-consuming. Imagine a man who, on the surface, remains cold, detached, maybe even indifferent—but inside, his mind is a storm of thoughts fixated on you. You are his obsession, and nothing will stand in the way of him having you.
This Yandere doesn’t just want you—he needs you, and it consumes him entirely. His thoughts are twisted and erratic, vacillating between anger and adoration. One moment, he’s cursing you for being a "nuisance"—why can’t you just be normal? Why do you have to be so cute, so alluring, to the point where it drives him mad? But even in his frustration, he’s drawn to you, tracing every little detail of your existence. He’s made a shrine to you in his mind—a pinboard filled with photographs of your daily routine, the people you love, your habits, your online posts. Every thread, every detail, is meticulously connected. A red string here, a note there—each one representing another part of you, all forming the complete picture of your life.
In his mind, it’s a perfect plan. You belong to him, and he will make sure of it. His twisted fantasies run wild, imagining you locked away, waiting for him. You’re his pet—something to be cared for, cherished, and, above all, owned. There’s no morality in his actions, no thought for the consequences. His love is obsessive, pathological. Every move he makes, every decision, is driven by the singular need to claim you.
The Rational Yandere
Meanwhile, the Rational-Yandere is an entirely different creature. He’s still obsessed, but unlike his irrational counterpart, he’s fully aware of his feelings, and he doesn’t feel ashamed of them. In fact, he believes it’s his destiny—his purpose to love you, to possess you. His obsession may seem cold and calculated, but it is born out of a deeper conviction that what he feels is right, that you and he are meant to be together. His love isn’t wild and chaotic—it’s deliberate and planned, an intricate web of manipulation and patience.
This Yandere is willing to wait, to play the long game. He doesn’t care if you’re already in a relationship—he knows you’ll eventually come to him. He’ll bide his time, manipulate situations, and orchestrate events until you see him as the only one who truly understands you. If you’re in love with someone else? No problem. He’s prepared to create fake accounts, send threatening messages, and slowly turn your world upside down until he becomes your only safe haven, the person you rely on.
His actions are cold, calculated, and methodical. He’s not in a rush—he doesn’t have to be. He knows that in time, you’ll come to see that he’s the perfect partner, the only one who can truly appreciate you for who you are. He’s not above bending the rules, crossing ethical lines, or doing things that others would consider wrong. After all, he believes that his love for you justifies any action, no matter how questionable. Everything he does is with purpose, a step towards bringing you into his orbit.
The Danger: Raw Obsession vs. Calculated Control
Both types of Yanderes are dangerous, but in different ways. The Irrational-Yandere is driven by unreasoning obsession, his mind clouded by emotion. He’s unpredictable and chaotic, and that makes him volatile. There’s no telling what he’ll do when pushed to the edge, because his actions are born from an uncontrollable need to have you. His love is reckless, desperate, and all-consuming.
On the other hand, the Rational-Yandere is far more calculating. He’s aware of his obsession, and instead of feeling ashamed of it, he embraces it. To him, it’s a purpose, a calling, and he’s willing to manipulate and deceive to make it a reality. His danger lies in his patience, his ability to plan and wait for the perfect moment. He won’t act out of anger or frustration like the Irrational Yandere. No, his every move is carefully thought out, and his mind is focused on one goal: to make you his.
So, which is more dangerous? The one who is consumed by his emotions and cannot control them, or the one who can manipulate, wait, and plan for the long haul? The difference lies in intent. One is driven by the heart, the other by the mind. And when combined, the two make a perfect storm—an obsession that is not only wild but cunning, chaotic yet calculated.

Yandere Rin who falls head over heals for Isagi GF
It really ticks him off how a guy like Isagi, a lukewarm idiot, have the capability to hold onto a beautiful girl like you?
It annoys the hell out of him.
Especially when Isagi finishes a workout and immediately calls you afterswards to wish you a good morning, or good evening, or sends a check-in text.
Whatever. He doesn’t care.
Or when you surprisingly drop by the Blue Lock facility; your college only being 15 min walking distance (Isagi said once) to bring him out for weekend dates when he’s free.
Or when he’s sitting on the bench drinking his water, and suddenly a vibratation on the bench alerts him to his left, glancing down to see Isagi phone flipped upwards, with a message from you;
“I’m gonna be busy all next week. I have school lots of work to prioritize, and you have soccer, so how about we wait till the spring? Is that okay?”
Why should he care?
You aren’t his girlfriend.
…his girlfriend…
His girlfriend.
His girlfriend…
Though, he did like the sound of that.
“Thanks Bachira!” Isagi voice comes off the field as Rin hears his cleets reach the solid ground, soon witnessing his shadow come into view.
Swiftly, Itoshi gets up from the bench to not get caught by Isagi for glaring at his phone screen. But he notices the way Isagi eyes lit up when he picks up his phone after reading your message, swiping his thumb to soon see the cute messages you both shared.
It sickens him.
“Rin-chan?”
“Huh?”
Rin shifts his eye to the dribbler in the field, currently waiting for his next opponent so Isagi can rest. And the striker can feel the boil in his heart increasing at the thought of Isagi enjoy chilling on the bench, texting you.
Before Bachira can even kick the ball away from his front foot to his back foot, Rin’s not wasting his time before already having his leg in the air to kick it from that exact spot straight into the goalie net 10 ft away.
