[ what was up ?? brian wasnât sure where to start really. he figured he shouldnât dive in, not that he would want to anyway. ] uh, if you donât mind, could i.. could i come inside ?? [ if brian were to spill, he couldnât have anyone hear them out in the hallway. it could get back to mother that way, and then who knows what else ?? ]
âOf course,â she answered, nodding as she pushed the door back and stepped aside so he could come in. Waiting for him to come in, she shut the door behind them once they were both inside the room. âCan I get you anything to drink? Or eat?âÂ
brian-kalum-sherman:
[ when she opened the door, a shopping listâs worth of excuses go through his head. (( iâm sorry, i should have texted or called first ⌠i just got lonely ⌠iâm out of sugar can i borrow some ?? )) if she were anyone else, he would have started spouting them off the minute they made eye contact, facade and all. but, they had an understanding of one another, and he was trying better to not hide himself around her. ] hey. [ it was weak, but he managed a half-smile. ]
As she observed the boy, Amelia chewed lightly on her bottom lip. âHey,â she repeated after a few seconds of silence. Her thoughts running as she tried to figure out the best way to help him. Part of her wanting to get right to the point in order to be able to help him, while the other debated the option, afraid that things wouldnât end well if she did so. Her eyes stayed focused on his before taking a step motioning for him to come in. âWhatâs up?â
brian-kalum-sherman:
[ he had been standing outside for nearly twenty minutes now, his hand lingering by the door. it had been one of those days for brian, where that anxious feeling came crawling back, as if it had lodged itself in his chest and was tearing its way up his throat. he wasnât sure who he should go to, considering he wasnât sure who would be the least burdened by his presence. his shaking hands had reached for his phone, typing out a short message before deleting it.Â
instead, he decided to get out of his room, breathless as he made his was to the nearest room of a familiar face. while he tried to calm himself a little before knocking, he had second thoughts about bothering her. which, led to where he was now.
with a sigh, he knocked lightly, waiting.] @angeloftheseas
With her back pressed to the wall and knees resting against her chest, Amelia held a pen in her hand and balanced a notebook on top of her knees. She was writing to the boys, filling them in on what was happening with her.  Writing a letter for each of them, Amelia was now on her fifth and last letter, writing to Tootles. A smile on her face as she thought of the small boy as she wrote her thoughts away. The knock on her door bringing back to reality as she looked up, green eyes blinking as she tried to figure out what that noise had been. Realizing it was a knock at the door, she sat up and walked to it. As she swung the door open, a smile curved on her face as Brian stood in front of her. One that dropped slightly as she saw the look in his eyes. âHey, you.â
brian-kalum-sherman:
iâd be more than happy to join you, darling. we can put on a nice movie, make popcorn, and cuddle. or i can give you a massage.Â
âyou know, all of the ABOVE sounds amazing. maybe some wine, too ??â

âThatâs normal! Usually we have different selves at work, and all our energy goes into playing that role. Of course, itâs still a facet of you, but itâs a more heightened version of a particular trait. It would be strange if you werenât tired at the end of the day. I know I am. Usually. Sometimes.â
âthatâs true. itâs crazy how we do that without realizing it too. i mean, i donât really think about it when iâm doing it but now that youâre pointing it out, itâs a lot more (( evident )). i guess so, i just wouldnât think iâd be this tired. youâd think i ran a marathon or two. sometimes ?? like most days sometimes ??âÂ
caspianbrooks:
âWhy I donât think that would be easy at all⌠After all you did hang about me for practice to prepare, and not many young whipper snappers could live up to me⌠Then again, hinting you want to go to bed? Thatâs really scandalous Amelia truly!â
âand why is that ??â she asked, a smile curving on her lips, âthatâs very true though. you always gave those young whipper snappers a run their money. even the lost boys couldnât keep up with you at times.â ameliaâs lips parted, eyes wide open as she playfully slapped the man. âi meant to SLEEP !! youâre the SCANDALOUS one twisting my  (( words )) around, cas !!âÂ
âitâs easy to think that spending your day SURROUNDEDÂ by five year olds would mean that their ((Â e n e r g y ))Â would rub off on you but i SWEAR iâm ready for bed by the end of the day !!â
a look of fear crossed ameliaâs face as she finally came to a halt once she reached the end of the street. the sun was starting to set and she had absolutely no idea where she was headed. the land was unfamiliar, one she hadnât wandered around before. which was why sheâd CURIOUSLY gone too far away from home, not realizing that the more she ventured in, the less sheâd be able to retrace her steps BACK. a thought that hadnât occurred to her until she found herself running around frantically, trying to find SOMETHING familiar enough to guide her back. nothing. finally admitting defeat, she looked around for help, looking for someone, a n y o n e, to help guide her back before her father noticed she was gone. âhello. excuse me,â she tapped on a strangerâs should, âcould you possibly help me ?? iâm trying to find my way back east.âÂ
⣠(brian)
anger coursed though ameliaâs veins as she looked up at the broken boy. tears welling in her eyes as she grew even more frustrated by the second. she could see it in his face â the torment, the confusion, the loss. he was torn between the good and the bad, edging toward what was wrong. she was trying to push him back, make him see the light, but the more she insisted, the more she could feel him slipping from her fingers. it was useless and amelia knew it but it didnât stop her from trying. it was a conversation theyâd had time and time again. a topic that had torn them apart once before and now had them in the middle of the room fighting. but amelia didnât care. she would fight, sheâd fight till she had no more fight left in her if it meant not losing him. he was the one person she refused to lose, she WOULDNâT lose him. she was crying now. tears streaming down her face as she tried to keep herself as composed as she could. she was terrified and all she could do was try to reason with him using words. "you canât do this. you canât pick them, you canât choose the wrong side. PLEASE !!â she begged, âyou know this. i know you know this !! i know you donât want to do this, so donât. brian, PLEASE, just stop for a second and think. think about what itâll do to you. itâll break you. you wonât be able to come back from it. you wonâtââ ameliaâs frantic plea interrupted mid-sentence as her breath was caught in between a kiss. his hand cupping her face as amelia froze, her body and mind suddenly enthralled by the boy. she didnât dare move a muscle, instead closing her eyes as she savored the moment. as the boy pulled away, one hand moved to his chest as she kept her forehead pressed to his. âplease, donât.â

brian-kalum-sherman:
Eggnog? [ Of course he had heard of eggnog, be it from old carols and repetitive movies on television. But, considering everything about his home life, heâd never had the happiest of holidays. So, it was understandable that some of the concepts of traditional Christmases and happy families were foreign to him. ] Iâve⌠Iâve never had eggnog. [ Brian could feel the tension of the words left unsaid in the conversation all throughout his frail, tiny body. He was thankful she didnât divulge her questions about him at the moment, just like he was with every friend heâs ever had. Unlike her, most of them werenât aware of his secret, nor his bad shape. ] The best? Youâve never had a cup of hot cocoa from Alohi then. Thereâs a secret ingredient. [ As much as he had a small hatred towards home, he couldnât help but admire the beautiful sights and places found on the island. After he moves to Monstropolis, he knows heâll miss them slightly. ] But I think I can muster up enough energy to go compare hot cocoa, my treat of course. [ A weak smile appeared on his face. ]
âeggnog,â she repeated in a much more confident tone than how she actually felt. the drink being one she hadnât even heard about until she stepped on land and one she wasnât particularly fond of. but it was considered a âholiday drinkâ and amelia was determined to  experience everything holiday. âyouâre not missing out on much,â she finally admitted, flashing the boy a small wink, âbut for the sake of christmas, i think weâre gonna have to get you to try it.â she wasnât sure how much heâd be up for it but she figured the suggestion wouldnât hurt. after all, worst case scenario was that heâd end up hating it and theyâd end up laughing about it somewhere ?? amelia pressed on her upper lip, thinking for a few seconds before finally shaking her head. âno, i canât say i have,â she admitted. alohi hadnât been a place hook liked to visit often, only docking there a handful of times, never allowing amelia enough time to sneak in and out without getting caught. âthough now iâm pretty curious about that secret ingredient. iâll have to try it sometime.â amelia couldnât help but smile as he agreed, bowing her head in agreement. âdeal !! but my treat on the snowman cookies !! â

[ Brian noticed she seemed happy to see him, which was something he still was trying to adjust to with people. There was a part of him that just thought people were pitying him, and only hung out with him as charity. Also, the last couple of times the two had interacted, things had not gone well. He had thought there was the slightest possibility that he finally found someone who understood him, someone he could be honest and true with. But, because of his own cowardly behavior, he had assumed he had ruined things. They were more different than he had thought, and he envied her. Her past had no hold over her, and she had seemed to find herself and do amazing things. He, on the other hand was letting his mother still scare him into making decisions he hated, despite being planets away. He was stuck in a self-destructive rut, feeling more lost than ever. He felt like he was losing the last few shreds of himself that made him who he truly was, he was losing his interest in everything. ] I, um, I havenât really left my dorm much. Or at all, really. Iâm just tired is all. [ There was a nervous laughter in his voice, hoping not to reveal how much his pathetic life had been going downhill since the bomb threat. The anxiety was relentless, and when he did get a few quiet moments to himself, it seemed as if he could never get anything done. ]
âoh,â amelia replied, concern filled her tone as she glanced up at the boy. green eyes gazing over his delicate feature as she tried to figure out what it was that didnât seem right. her first instinct being to ask him what was wrong but knowing how their conversations had ended before, amelia remained quiet. she didnât want to upset him, much less end up arguing with him. what she wanted was to spend the holidayâs with someone whose company she enjoyed, someone she cared about, and she sure as HELL wasnât about to ruin that by pushing on a subject she knew could easily get them there. âthatâs too bad. youâre really missing out on all the eggnog and christmas carols,â she joked, laughing awkwardly as she tried to make friendly conversation. there was nothing more she wanted than to talk to him, ACTUAL talk â ask him how he was, make sure that he was okay. but she was too chicken to attempt to hold a conversation with value. doing so meant taking two steps back, knowing theyâd end up in the awkward position they had been before with both of them standing on opposite sides. she missed him too much the first time to go through that again, so she smiled. bright, cheerful smile, as she pretended that everything was okay. âwell, i hope you have at least a tad bit of energy because i know a place that makes the best cups of hot cocoa and you just have to try it!â

[ Days seemed to pass for Brian as he sat looking up at the ceiling, showtunes playing quietly in the background. Now that they were on break he didnât do much besides sleep, eat, and overthink. He was always tired, and now that he had an excuse to lock himself away, he took it. He thought that people would just assume he went home for the holidays, to his âlovingâ mother. In all honesty, if he were to go home, he would be met with the emptiness from his father and the harsh words of his mother. It would be similar to what was happening now really, except the fact that the words wouldnât just be swimming around his mind, instead being yelled from across the room. He was knocked out of his trance as he heard a knock on the door, sighing before getting up weakly to answer. He cracked the door slightly, seeing a familiar face. ] @angeloftheseas
Holidays were both a blessing and curse sent in disguise. On one hand, it meant finally being able to stop and relax, knowing academics were one less thing she needed to worry about. It meant finally having time to wander and go on the many adventures sheâd planned on partaking but none she could have if she wanted to pass any of her classes. The downside of it, however, was being stuck at Disland during a time where everybody was allowed to go home to spend it with their family. A family Amelia longed for, missing her boys now more than ever. Holidays with them had really become her holiday miracle. Setting up their little own traditions like finding something during an adventure to give to each other as a âpresentâ or their annual âfeastâ. Knowing what awaited her back home only made Amelia feel worse as she sulked around the halls of the empty school. Despite knowing why she couldnât go back, Amelia still couldnât help but sit in the pool of sadness, longing to be back in Neverland. She was lonely and bored, two moods that didnât quite fit with each other as she aimlessly walked around trying to find a something to do or a friendly face. It hadnât even registered where she was going or what she was doing as she found herself knocking on a familiar door. Not fully aware of whose door she was in front of until it cracked open and Brian appeared. A bright smile rising on her face as the boy stood in front of her, knowing that maybe the holidays wouldnât be so bad after all. âHey!â she exclaimed, trying to hide the obvious glee in her voice, âI wasnât sure Iâd actually find you here.â

[ He regretted ever uttering the words to her, the ones that would seal his fate. But how could she expect him to give up everything he had worked to keep perfect because his heart wanted something else? His heart always seemed to make stupid decisions for him. He could feel the tension in the air as they just looked at each other, as if they were strangers, as if that kiss on that fateful day had never caused them to meet. Keeping his neutral facial expression, his eyes still screamed out, just as they had before. ] I wasnât.. I wasnât going anywhere in particular.. I can.. I can turn around and leave⌠This seems, um, awkward.
Brianâs eyes meeting hers wasnât just awkward, it was painful. The expression in his eyes still being the one of the boy sheâd kissed that day but everything else about him was different. She could see the change but she didnât want to believe it. She didnât want to pull away yet from the moment the two had decided to take different paths, Amelia knew things wouldnât end well. Still, Amelia couldnât wrap her head around why. It was wrong, it was all wrong. She wanted to stand up, grab him by the shoulders and shake some sort of sense into him, but she couldnât. All she could do was sit and stare. The corners of her lip threatening to crack by his comment. It was awkward, the air around them uncomfortable, and Amelia would have laughed if it werenât for how weird she felt near him. But even with the awkwardness that surrounded them, she didnât want him to leave. âOh, um, okay. No, youâre fine. You donât have to leave, I mean, if you donât want to. You can stay, if you want. Not that you have to but, um, right,â she laughed nervously, the words rambling out of her mouth before she had a chance to actually think of what she was saying.Â
brian-kalum-sherman:
[Â Anxiety.
It seemed to be the only thing running through the tired boyâs veins these days. It started the day of the bomb threat, and had only gotten worse. He was eating even less than usual, only getting a few hours asleep, and he was doing poorly in classes. He tried to do good, he really did, but his mind wouldnât stop going back to a decision he still had yet to finalize. Maybe this was a sign he should do what was right for his facade, his image. He was already doing horribly, why not add this to the list?
He had been so wrapped up in his thoughts, he had almost walked right into the girl on the steps. Realizing who it was, the anxiety only worsened inside. She had been there during the bomb threat, seen the side of him he vowed never to show. She claimed to know how he felt, but did she really? All he wanted to do was trust her with every part of his being, to finally spill the deepest parts of his soul to someone with no judgement, no cruel words. But what if he couldnât? There was always that little part of his mind feeding him lies, telling him he doesnât deserve the relief it would bring. He could never deserve anything good in the world. ] I.. um⌠[ He stared rubbing at his eyes, as if that would make the bags from under his eyes simply vanish. ] I didnât see you, itâs my fault, sorry. You donât have to move, Iâll move.
Ameliaâs lips parted as her eyes fell on Brian. Worry filled her green eyes for a moment before she looked away, not able to keep her eyes on him. It had been a while since sheâd seen him, the last time being during the bomb threat. Things had been good with him until then, Amelia feeling as if he was one of the only people she could trust at the school, until she couldnât. It was when sides were picked that Amelia wasnât sure where to stand, at least when it came to him. She had trusted him so easily, from the moment she had first laid eyes on him, then again when she bumped into him at the school. Everything about practically screaming that he was suffering too, yet he turned out to be someone Amelia wasnât sure she really did know. He had made his decision and she had made hers, and now, now things were weird. The expression on his face causing a frown to form on hers. There was a hint of the boy she had started to get to know, the one that for an unexplainable reason she trusted, but there was also part of her that told her to get away. The unanswered question of trusting him or not scattering through Ameliaâs brain. Her eyes scanning his, looking for such answer as the girl shook her head. âItâs fine,â she answered, âIâm sorry, actually. I shouldnât be sitting here. No, I should move, let you pass.â
