Wandering Soul

After leaving the note, he took one last look around at the place that had been his home for so long. He smiled sadly, feeling both relieved and heartbroken at the thought of leaving. This was what he needed to do. Maybe he would come back one day if he was permitted to. Mewling, he ran a hand through his hair and bowed his head. By the time his note was found, he would be long gone.

He had left everything here. He would take nothing except the tattered old clothes he had brought here with him. Humming softly, he made his way to the door with a skip to his step. Throwing one last glance back, he opened the big wooden door and slipped out with another noise. He walked down the way and finally he was at the iron gates. Taking a breath, he opened it and stepped outside.

With a heavy heart, he made a soft sad noise and looked around. Where was he going to disappear off to? Maybe he would go--

Suddenly, Jongdae felt all the air rush out of him. Life around him slowed and lights blurred as a terrible pain spread through his chest. Jongdae heaved and coughed, a bitter coppery taste filling his his mouth. He choked and fell to his knees. Frowning, he looked down and that was when he saw it. A pure silver cylinder blade protruding from his skin. He blinked in surprise, having not registered the new pain until he focused on it. Jongdae whimpered softly, his chest sending spasms of pain through every inch of his body. Darkness started the creep in on the younger and he frowned, confused. What was happening? Why was there so much pain? What was going on?

A dark figure knelt over and angel, and sharp yellow canines gleamed at him while a sinister laugh filled the hair. Jongdae's eyes grew wide and he attempted to scramble away. A hand shot out and large fingers wrapped themselves around the angel's scrawny neck. "The Lady sends her greetings." The form laughed and then slammed the younger to the ground. Jongdae's body shuddered and his vision flickered. Struggling to breath, he simply lay there, his whole life slowly flashing before his eyes. As the figure stood and slipped into the darkness, he felt his life seem to follow into the dreary nothingness. He felt like he was being slowly drained of everything but pain. Utterly confused, he lay there and his eyelids slowly fluttered closed. He shook himself awake and looked down. Understanding slowly flooded into the angel and he felt sad. Lodged into his chest was a blade. An angel's blade forged in holy fire. He closed his eyes once again and pursed his lips, knowing that the dagger stuck into his chest right below his heart was his death...but somehow it was okay. Everything would be okay. He was ready. He had lived since the beginning of time and now it was finally time for him to rest...almost. There were two things he still had to do. Only two, but dark hands were already enveloping themselves around the small Fallen Angel to carry him away.
