Dakota Access pipeline activists set their sights on the Flint water crisis

With their fight at Standing Rock seemingly won, at least for now, Dakota Access Pipeline protesters will refocus their efforts elsewhere: Flint, MI.

The activists plan to take on the city’s ongoing water crisis.

“This problem is all over the county,” Wes Clark Jr., a veteran of the U.S. Army, told MLive. Clark was one of the nearly 2,000-strong group, Veterans Stand for Standing Rock, that formed a first line of protection at the Oceti Sakowin Camp over the weekend.

“It’s got to be more than veterans,” Clark said. “People have been treated wrong in this county for a long time.”

Veterans and activists do not know exactly when they’ll head to Flint and many have vowed to stay until the Standing Rock Sioux ask them to leave.

But they’re hoping that their presence in Flint can call media attention to the crisis and force meaningful action in the same way their presence did in North Dakota. Read more

well, (I’m probably late, but) I just found out about Zennioptical.com. there are frames on their site for as low as $6.95.

I don’t know how pricing goes regarding particular prescription needs, but, for someone who has had to pay $300+ for some frames (we hadn’t even factored the lens at that point), I think this site is a God-send.

so, yeah. just wanna pass that on.

also, eyebuydirect.com is another cheap site where you can get eyeglasses/sunglasses, it ranges from $8-$86CAD ..what’s cool about them is, if you are not satisfied with your order, you can email them and they’ll send you free replacements of your choice. you have to let them know within 12 months though, but thats plenty of time. let’s say you buy 2 pairs of glasses, both of them cost $60, if you don’t like how they look, break easily, etc… you can choose as many pairs of glasses as you want as long as it’s not over $60, and they’ll send it to you for free. i tried it, it’s so dope.

$39 is their baseline sale price now, though they do have certain $19 promotions sometimes.

I’ve bought glasses from them and Zenni and I loved both, tho.

If any of you are in a very very dark place and have not reached out to help, please understand things get better if you let them. Depression truly is a silent killer and i just hope everyone who is going through it can get through it and see a happier life. I have dealt with it for years, and i can happily say i no longer wish to hurt myself, let others hurt me, or want to kill myself. Never settle with sadness. It can happen to anyone and please understand you don’t DESERVE it. please please please seek professional help if you need it. within a month, 2 very dear friends had been hospitalized for attempting suicide, but are now receiving medical help and on their road to recovery.
