Angelification

"Why are you here? Are you here to fetch my soul and prepare me for afterlife?" Aeon asked sarcastically.

Azrail smiled. The two of them has grown fond of each other. Their keen understanding of human nature, made them sympathetic of each other's struggles. It was ironic, the angel of life and the bringer of death became unlikely of friends.

"For the record, you don't have a soul and the afterlife won't accept you there anyway." Azrail jokingly said as he sat beside Aeon.

For a minute they sat in silence and stared at the starry heavens.

Aeon looks at his friend's serene face. Sitting peacefully beside her is the guardian of the afterlife, the reaper, the angel of death and Death himself.

He doesn't have a scythe, he doesn't look terrifying, on the contrary, he looks calm, comforting and peaceful.
