By the time they stepped outside, the noise hit all at once--voices rising, cameras flashing--but Lucifer was already mid-retort, already distracted enough that it didn’t settle as heavily. Alastor moved just behind him. His hand hovered near Lucifer’s back--close enough to guide, close enough to intervene. But he didn’t touch.
