"Seriously? Okay, I’ll see what I can throw together," she laughed, shaking your head. "You’re loco, Andy."

"This is why I love you, you're so awesome." He grinned. "Hey, I mean you can't really mess it up too bad so there's that."

"Si, I dont want her growing faster than she is. Now, lunch time. And then nap time for you big girl," Nilza said, tapping Ava lightly on the nose. "I have leftover pizza or I have enchiladas. Which do you want?"

"Um...an enchilada pizza?" He asked hopefully.

"Oh no, don’t even mention high school. Preschool is scary enough of a thought," she said with laugh, kissing first Ava, then Andy.

"We still have a bit yet for both of those milestones." He chuckled. "Thank god."

"Make her stop growing up. She was so tiny, now she’s getting so big and walking," she said with a sigh, pouting slightly.

"Hey now." He walked over to pick up Ava. "She's always gonna be our little girl, even when she's not so little anymore." Andy smiled and walked over to Nilza. "And no matter what she says when she's in high school, she'll always love you."

"Don’t breathe too hard," she whispered. "You might knock her over," she joked. Ava took another step, chubby legs unused to using knees for walking.

Andy beamed. "That's right." He nodded as she took another small, wobbly step before falling on her bottom and laughing like it was the most hilarious thing in the world. "Two steps, not bad."

"You can do it," Nilza encouraged, smiling at the look on Ava’s face, excited but confused. Nilza called the dogs over to her so that wagging tails wouldn’t knock the baby over. Ava slowly let go of the table and took a wobbly step away from it.

"Holy sh-crap." He'd been trying to watch his language, knowing Ava would pick up on it. "Come on." He nodded and smiled. "That's a girl." Ava stood there swaying a little bit getting some balance.

Nilza shrugged. "Don't ask me, she's just as much my first as she is yours," she laughed. "Careful, chica, you're gonna fall on your butt if you let go," she warned.

"I wanna try this out see what she does." he walked into the room and squatted close to Ava and held out his arms. "C'mere sweetie." He encouraged. "Not you dunderheads." He chuckled as both dogs came over. "Come on Ava, walk to daddy."

Andy walked into the room to see his daughter standing. "That's precious. Dogs just know, somehow." He smiled and leaned against the door. "Hey, you think she's ready to start walking yet? I mean she's halfway there already."
