What’s your reality – plain, augmented, virtual, or mixed? Our Digital Director Andy Hawkes talks through alternate realities and what they’re good for…
A little something I wrote last year about the ways brands can engage with immersive technologies like VR, AR, and MR.
Advancements in AI technology will transform how marketing campaigns are developed and potentially make people’s interaction with marketing content and brand experiences more personal, or alternatively, less so.
It seems like everyone is talking about AI at the moment, from your humble correspondent to Barack Obama!
When it comes to any new tool or technology it can be used for good, evil, or anything in between, but it is my hope that brands, marketers and advertisers will use it to make their interactions with consumers more personal, more subtle, and ultimately more human.
Be careful when you use the word “easy” to describe other people’s jobs.
"Declaring that an unfamiliar task will yield low-hanging fruit is almost always an admission that you have little insight about what you’re setting out to do. And any estimate of how much work it’ll take to do something you’ve never tried before is likely to be off by degrees of magnitude."
So long, and thanks for all the fish… Frankly, I’m feeling completely horrified and bewildered by the EU referendum result here in the UK. All I can hope for now is a miracle. • #makedaily #calligraphy #calligraffiti #calligritype #calligraphymasters #typographyinspired #inking #ink #lettering #handstyles #thedailytype #caligrafia #graffiti #showusyourtype #graphicdesign #goodtype #typedaily #typespire #handmadefont #art http://ift.tt/28UzQqP

Some thoughts on the Brexit fallout, by me.
Say my job was shifting big rocks from one pile to another. And a tool was invented that let me carry on moving rocks when I got home. From the comfort of my sofa! Would I do it? Of course not. I’d be sitting at home saying “f**k you! My arms are tired, my back hurts, and I need a rest”. Or maybe I could do some rock shifting on the train in the morning? Again the suggestion would be met with a jolly “f**k you!”. But for some reason because it’s ‘just’ brain-work we seem to be OK with it.

Want to kill innovation? Make people attend meetings all day. Send them emails every 30 seconds. Bombard them with too much work. Kill their enthusiasm. Make them write pages of pointless prose to justify something that should be simple. … You get the picture.

When there’s no one looking, how do we behave? When we have no reason to be nice to someone, are we nice anyway? Do we do the honorable thing in the shadows, when no one can see us?

Anyone can now make a thing. But making the right thing, that’s the trick.

13 tips for making responsive web design multi-lingual
Responsive Web Design (RWD) builds on the primary design principle underlying the web’s core usefulness and growth: universality. A content out approach that is device agnostic makes your responsive website future friendly as it will in theory work on any device. The web wins the more viewable your website is. By adapting our responsive websites to work with multiple languages we can further increase the number of users who are able to use our content.

Snapchat care about “not being creepy” so much that they’ve just gone into business with the vile, misogynist, creepy-as-hell Daily Mail website with its “sidebar of shame”...
The good folks at WPP have teamed up with Snapchat and the (vile, hypocritical scum at the) Daily Mail website...
to form "Truffle Pig"...
[kill me now]
to "create social content for brands"...
