The other night we heard alarming amounts of screaming from our hotel room here in Cat Ba, Vietnam. After investigating further we were SO grateful to find it was just the Vietnam vs Jordan ASEAN Cup soccer match! What a great experience to be in a place SO invested in their country’s team. Every house/bar/restaurant/business had the game on. Vietnam won on penalty kicks and the town went NUTZ!! Here’s the video of the impromptu parade (my favorite part is the family in the golf cart with pots and pans who were working in the restaurant and left their jobs in a frenzy when the team won)!
