Impulse Transmission. Initiated

Happy President’s Day or something.  I know it’s not a favorable day right now, but hopefully you were able to gather some small piece of happiness or do something to display your displeasure.  I opted for putting off all my house chores till today.  What better way to say I’m not happy about the state of things than picking up dog shit in your yard? 

School’s been keeping me busy.  I hate how much homework Spanish dumps on you.  They should make a rule regarding classes that are prerequisites or electives about them not being able to assign more than an hour of homework to you a week (For each class). 

My Hong Kong film class has been great.  I watch films that I’ve mostly never seen and then I get to write subtextually about them.  There is a degree of difficulty to write something of substance when you’re watching something for the first time and trying both to follow along with the story and pay attention to predetermined essay topics.  

I’ve been playing a lot of Monster Hunter World.  I was not aware of the series until a few months ago and now it’s my most frequently played game.  When I tried the beta back in December I wasn’t entirely impressed, but after assurances the beta didn’t display all the game play options I would have in the full version and giving the constantly disappointing Destiny 2 more chances than it deserved I was ready for a change.  I’m glad I did.  I spent most of my free time this holiday weekend grinding and helping people out with their hunts.  I’ve found it so enjoyable I’ve barely gone to the movie this year.  Even with MoviePass, I’ve only managed to go out and see Black Panther in the last month.  That’s with a plethora of Oscar movies out that I still need to catch up on.  

Also after much talking, I’ve finally booked a trip to Seattle in two months.  One of two cities left on the west coast that I’ve always wanted to visit and home to my favorite defunk basketball team.  I cannot wait. 

Good morning, I’m up early and not at work, was considering taking a trip out to Arizona, but plans changed, my friend couldn’t go.  So I’m going to grab some breakfast, run some errands, get a work out in and maybe see a movie today.  

But first, a blog. 

College starts back up next week, all things going as planned it will be my last Spring semester as an undergraduate.  Something I was totally indifferent to before (because I had a good job and degree or not, probably woudn’t have left.), but now that seeds are in place to move out of Las Vegas, I feel like I need to equip myself with as much as I can in preparation of re-entering the job market  Something that I am NOT looking forward to. 

The last week has been annoyingly busy, by that I mean having to deal with those things that need to be tended to keep the wheels moving in life so to speak, but you’d rather not have the problem to begin with.  Like changing the oil in your car or doing your taxes.  One of my parents got in a car accident last week, three car accident and they were sent to the hospital. 

Don't worry, it actually wasn’t as bad as it sounds. 

It seems they had not taken their medication before heading out, as a result they got a little messed up while on the road and as a result turned into two other cars at a blistering 3 miles per hour. 

Problem for me was, I was the one who had to tell the insurance company that the cause of the accident was because the parent was literally off their meds and they have no real recollection of the accident to provide their side of the story.

Yeah, it hasn’t been fun and the parent in question is pretending that this isn’t going to be a big deal for anyone, but I feel they’re going to be in for a rude awakening. 

Hi, is this thing on? 

It’s been awhile, I know, I don’t really go on as much social media anymore.  I have a Twitter I still frequent and I have an Instagram account where I post some comic book stuff, but my personal Instagram and my Facebook?  They may get a few posts here or there, but I really only use them to check on everyone. Tumblr was the beginning of all that purge.

But life’s changed a bit since I was last on here and I want to get back into journal writing and really there’s no reason I can’t post something here at least once a week and that’s my plan. 

Myself?  I’m in a relationship over a year now, she lives with me and we’re saving up to get another house, location TBD, probably not Vegas.  

I’m back in school, so close to graduating I can feel it... I can feel the wind from that swinging door of change that comes with moving from one stage of my life to another that it’s making me anxious. 

I’m taking two classes this Spring, all goes well all I have is my Math and that is all she wrote. 

That’s enough about me for now, we’ll get reacquainted as we go along, it’s going to be a long year.
