"Guess we're more different than you thought."

"...I did, anyway.  My parents weren't even surprised when I told them I'm gay because of how much I fawned over you."

"Because our ideals clashed and I’m too old-fashioned for his taste.

"...yeah, well, I kind of had a huge crush on you when you first debuted so."

"...why?" Yes it seems Barnaby has no idea why he'd hate Kotetsu.

"Well he saved my ass during the season finale of Hero TV a few years back, and then we became the first partners in the history of the show."

"I guess some things don't change."

"...so how did you two meet, anyway?  If I'm not a mechanic."

"I…I dunno. I just think that’s how Bunny sees me. I’m old, clumsy, and I’m really…dumb sometimes, but I like to believe he sees past that."

"I guarantee you didn’t mess up, Barnaby. You just…did what you wanted to. Guess you’re not embarrassed by your old man of a partner, and that’s a good thing."

"...why would I be?  I mean he's clumsy and kind of useless but I love him so..."

"My Bunny is loved by all the women, and I’m sure they’d punch me if they found out we were together," he said with a laugh. "I mean, neither of us are…gay, but…what did Nathan call it? Demi-something or other."

"Yeah, well, they wouldn't even know my name if I didn't mess up on my birthday..."

"Yeah…" He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Bunny and I are partners at work, yes, but I know he misses his parents daily and, given the opportunity, would be glad to follow in their footsteps. And I’m not really sure if he…feels happy being with a man. We love each other, I don’t doubt that, but…I wonder if he’s embarrassed to be seen with me sometimes."

"...I've been openly gay since college." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Technically, the both of us are." No need to break the forth wall, Kotetsu. "Anyway, the only thing that I really notice as a change between you and him is…you’re happy."

"Well yeah, why wouldn't I be happy?  I'm doing the job I've been wanting since I was a kid.  And I'm actually in a good relationship for once."

"I’m thinking it’s just your back story that’s changed, Bun. The rest of you seems…relatively the same."

"...I'm not a character in a show, old man. Back story." He rolled his eyes and put his hands on his hips.

"Of course I am! We are the same person, basically."

"Maybe, but apparently I'm not the same man."
