Hackberry A10 running Android & XBMC. Performance was shocking. The interface runs fine but over LAN trying to watch 720 or 1080 was just not going to happen.

Made a case for the Hackberry A10. Problem? It got warm so this was not a good plan.

Potential Android HTPC Hardware
The Android HDMI TVStick which might be more widely known as the Telechip HDMI DONGLE is a neat little package.
Android TVStick aka CX-1 aka Telechips HDMI Dongle. This is what I have been experimenting with although mine is black. Took me a while to find a common name for this unit as it gets resold under a few names. My breakthrough came by using parts of the Settings> About> Build Number and found references.

I wanted to see how well the device coped with XBMC for Android. Install was simple enough just download the apk file for Android from the XBMC wiki. Watch out if you have DroidMote running though. I found I could not click the install button and had to all the services associated with DroidMote and go back to physical mouse. Havent tried installing another apk since.

So I found a decent set of resources for rooting the device which proved to be extremely easy. Once rooted I was able to install DroidMote Server. It costs about $2 but it is worth it. The device allows you to connect a keyboard/mouse via th usb port but I was not happy having a mouse attached to the TV. It looked shit. So DroidMote Server allows me to connect over the home network any Android device running the DroidMote Client. It featres a mouse, keyboard games controller and media controller. Totally worth every penny for the server. Now every Android device is a potential remote control.
