Hank and Connor's shipp would be accepted by the DBH fandom if Hank were "aesthetically" attractive and young.
(Which is false. In my opinion, Hank is quite attractive.)
A few days ago I had come across a book author who in one of her mini comics had adapted the dynamics of her ship based on DBH, specifically on Hank and Connor's relationship. I had read a couple of comments and posts about it and the public's great approval was the appearance and age of their characters. One of his characters (who would play Hank) was young and conventionally handsome.
Which makes me wonder: is the fandom's disapproval really due to Hank's appearance and age? Many take refuge in the idealization that Hank, supposedly, is the father representation in his dynamic with Connor (which is not the case. Clancy himself clarified this). However, I keep reading posts that talk about their disagreement and dissatisfaction with the shipping. I have read many comments like: “Hank is a depressed old man”, “Connor is like his son”, “why would an old man like him be with an android like Connor?” “Have you seen Hank? It's horrible."
I'm TIRED of reading that kind of shit. We would advance as a society when they stop this absurd mentality and stop harassing, humiliating and discrediting the people who make content about them.
