Android apps are being introduced on a daily basis. More and more apps are being sold in the Google Play. Google play is the platform on which Android apps are sold. Some apps are created and maintained by third-party developers, an example of an app that is produced and maintained by a third party developer is are apps for mobile sports betting. Android betting apps are produced by bookmakers who want to expand there online betting services to mobile users.

I was just reading a report on the CNN website about Microsoft's Surface with windows 8. Sadly bad reports are coming through about it. 

For those who don't know the Surface from Microsoft is a hybrid - a tablet crossed with a laptop. As with most hybrids in technology its hasn't really worked.

Whilst a very well  built laptop using windows 8, an expertly designed and executed laptop design. On paper it has all the specs of a top class laptop. It is as fast as any other leading notebook. The display is one of the best due to HD resolution on the 10.6-inch screen. 

Here come the bad points...The big sell on the Surface Pro is that it can run Windows apps you used on Windows 7 and it can still function as a compact tablet. However in reality it doesn't work. The trackpads apparently don't work.

The Children in one of the schools in Nairobi's slum area are using technology for education, in a way to broaden the children's access to information and make learning more interactive and fun.

The children get 2 hours a week to use the tablets and watch video to learn about the things they have been studying in textbooks.

eLimu are providing the software in a way to aid learning. eLimu works with local teachers, partners and developers to design localised, digital content meant to push primary education beyond the typical “chalk and talk” approach common in many classrooms. The start-up wants to show that digital content can be cheaper, better, and more effective at getting kids to learn. 

In Kenya, education is still one of the country’s biggest development hurdles. Primary school education was made free in 2003, meaning that nearly 100% of children attend but less than a third of the children have basic numeracy and literacy skills, according to Uwezo, a four-year initiative researching the state of education in east Africa. 

I read about this on the BBC's website. I think it's a great program to help those in the third world. All children should get to experience they joys of modern technology. 

Sony have unveiled the thinnest Android tablet, the Sony Xperia Z tablet. 

The Xperia is claimed to be the thinnest tablet at only 6.9mm thick (thinner than the iPad) and also the lightest at 1.1lb made so far. The tablet is powered by Google Android software and has a 10.1inch screen. It is also claimed to be water and dust resistant which makes it pretty special.  

The device has only been confirmed for release in Japan, but hopefully they will be launched in the UK and USA some time after the Japanese launch.

Android technology from Google is one of the leading software applications for smartphones and mobile devices. It is favoured by many over Apple products despite Apples hardware being exceptional.

I'm a mobile device novice and this is my recordings of stuff I find out in order to understand a little bit better the technology that surrounds me but I do not yet own.
