there should be more options than suffering via employment and suffering via unemployment

you dont have to be a parent to understand the horror of walking into a room to discover that the baby crawled out of his crib and onto that pottery wheel you forgot to turn off, and while the baby is spinning around and around, the dog is sitting there all calm, like a person, gently using his paws to fashion the babys soft cartilage head into something a little more modern.Ā it might be the classic tale of bad parenting, but lets see where the dog is going with this
This post is from 2013. It has less than 100 notes. Together we can revive this work of art that tragically ahead of its time. Weāre ready for it now

I'll never get over how fucking ridiculous the post-hunger games dystopian YA trend was. Every book was "society is sorted into *rolls dice* 5 groups based on *picks card* astrology signs. It is illegal to *throws dart at wall* sing. The main character is special because she *spins wheel* knows how to read. Two boys are in love with her."
Hunger Games said "I am this incredible piece of literature detailing the evils of a capitalist society in conjunction with an increasingly authoritarian government. The purpose of my love triangle is to make the protagonist face a very real choice of staying with what she knowsā passion and war and survivalā or finally having a chance at peace. My twist ending was genuinely unexpected but fully understandable, because switching out one tyrant for another accomplishes nothing aside from placating the people. I contain so many layers of nuance and meaning that it is astonishing that middle school children were able to truly grasp me." And every YA author looked at that and went "Heehoo teenage giwl fights against scawy govewnment WHILE twying to pick between boys!!!!!!! I'm gonna wepwoduce this pewfectly!!!" and frankly I hate it
more dragon
unstoppable force (wanting to be the kindest version of myself) vs immovable object (all the anger and hatred I have inside myself)
I love how all of the Batman villains are like āah heās not at the manor, itās defenseless! and then alfred just racks an AK-47 and is like pull up bitch
Batmanās Villains: The butler will be easy prey!
Heās just an old manā¦he doesnāt have any of the Batmanās gadgets or training or fighting skills!
Alfred: Oh my youāre right
Thereās something else of Master Bruceās I donāt have as well
(Cocks a shotgun) A CODE AGAINST KILLING
Batmanās Villains: Wayne isnāt here to save you old man!
Alfred:
Alfred is the originalĀ āCall an ambulance ā but not for meā
@dragonpuppies I spent way too long on this
Bruce: I have a code.
Alfred: And I have a gun.
Bruce: time to remove the guns.
Alfred: good fucking luck.
Iāve peer reviewed @ebonyheartnetās addition and found that it deserves a reblog.

Just commited a crime. God I love killing people for money
Hey you shouldn't do that. You should be killing people because you enjoy it, not to play the part of a capitalist cog
You're so right, I'm such a buffoon
I donāt know what they were expecting.

Rephotographing Route 66: Animated GIFs Showing 1930-1970 Scenes Compared to Today
Route 66 is a famous highway that crosses the United States, connecting Santa Monica, California on the west with Chicago, Illinois toward the east. It was one of the original highways of the US Highway System.
The route is also the subject of a project by photographerĀ Natalie Slater, titled āThe Mother Road Revisited.ā Slater found old photos of the route from decades ago and rephotographed them as they appear today.

Sometime in theĀ nearĀ future I plan on driving the whole length of RouteĀ 66. Iāve driven portions of it here and there but never the whole length. I just need to come up with some new and creative idea that hasnāt been done before to photograph my journey.
Everything Everywhere All at Once really said that parents would love to be able to blame all the things they don't understand about their children on some sort of tangible enemy that they could fight and defeat but that enemy doesn't exist and all they're fighting are their children's different forms of self-expression which causes them to hurt their children in the process and their children to lash out and hurt them. And despite all that, despite how much it hurts both parties, both still love each other and want to be understood by each other.
That for a parent to be there for their child, they have to be willing to understand them and not fight them.
I'm simply in awe of this movie.
