#I did driver's ed got my permit did all the practice hours at 15/16 then I failed the driving test lol #never took it again or even practiced again after that #it's been 14 years and I still don't regret it #I tried a 1 hour practice session with an instructor not too long ago but it just reinforced my decision not to bother with it #they didn't actually tell me why I failed tho the tester immediately disappeared and the DMV ppl refused to help when I tried to ask #if I had to guess I'd say it's bc I merged over 2 lanes bc the tester was like 'okay turn. you have to turn. turn here. TURN NOW' so I did #one coworker said the test is easier in a more rural town so I should get a ride to that town and take the test there #I was like why tf would I do that lol if I can't pass unless it's an ''easy'' version why would you even want me to have a license

There is definitely a phenomena where people try SO hard to avoid anthropomorphism they end up looping around into this quasi-religious stance that humans have some essential non-biological quality that sets us apart from other animals. Like being so cautious about how you describe emotion experienced by a nonhuman animal that you go "that animal is not 'happy' it's just demonstrating a response to positive stimuli and receiving chemical reward signals" as if that's not also what human emotion is at the fundamental level.
