Signalis and e.y.e. divine cybermancy plots are both about being stuck in a loop, and the main character kills their wife, but there's a very important distinction. Rimanah is stuck in his own cycles of guilt BECAUSE he killed his wife. He repeats his journey over and over, running away from the truth until he pieces things together and faces himself and his own actions. The only way out of the cycle is to enter a purgatory where he's stuck in a state of nothingness, and the only way out from there is to destroy the ouroboros seal, and jump back into the cycle thru a hole in the ground. Meanwhile Elster is stuck in a cycle because they were doomed from the start by the nation and circumstances, and her wife is a slowly dying yet unable to die bioresonant being that can warp reality (or something!), stuck in a nasty broken cryopod. Barely alive, she waits for Elster to fullfill their promise. So Elster keeps going, over and over again, for Ariane. Until in the promise ending with great emotional pain she kills her wife, ending her prolonged suffering

started playing lunacid. summoned a snail while fighting a bigger snail and witnessed some snail violence (my summon is pushing around the shell after it finished off the big enemy snail agdfhasjksd)
played idols of ash today. very fun little game (ancient megastructure climbing horror game), it's so simple but so effective that i got stuck in "one more try" loop of trying to complete nightmare mode which has no checkpoints so you gotta descend thru it all in one go. only one life. also positively surprised by the narrative, interesting little story for what could easily be a gameplay-only short game
there's some details i rlly like in this. the grappling hook has neat pulley physics, gotta be one of the best grappling hooks in a game. protag's reactions like increased heartbeat in certain dangerous situations (like when i was hanging on my hook above seemingly depthless abyss with nothing beneath my feet, swinging to save myself from this predicament by reaching a far away platform to the side) and subtle breathing added to the uneasy feeling
i really like the soundscape too, the silence in this dark megastructure makes every noise gain so much weight, but when the music does appear it's very emotional. also, so many times i died bc of a stupid little slip-up that sent me falling to my death, which feels awfully realistic
it's just soooo fun to play short games that execute their idea so neatly. it's a very self-contained polished experience that doesn't overdo it, but gives you just enough to really enjoy it and become memorable

🐉I’ve always loved picking out repeating voices in the Dragon Age franchise. Like oh, that person has the same voice actor as so and so! Especially in Origins. I heard Yuri Lowenthal absolutely everywhere, it seemed like.
☢️I really like the depth of the storytelling in Fallout. You can find so many little things out in the Wasteland that ends up connecting to a bigger storyline, completely on accident. No, you don’t have to go out and find Little Tommy’s grandma for him, but if you do, it might open up a whole other quest line. Of course not all quests are like that. Some of them are just, “Go and kill these Raiders for the 57th time”

Lucanis stands there, equal parts captivated and terrified by the sight before him. Shukaku has a deepstalker between his teeth, shaking it like a dog with a chewtoy. The remains of several other creatures are shredded at the elf's feet. Most of his upper body is stained with blood and viscera. It should be disgusting. Should be disturbing. So why is it that Lucanis feels…something stirring in the depths of his stomach at the sight? He watches Shu's biceps flex as the elf throws a deepstalker matriarch over his shoulder (one handed) like it weighs nothing and feels his mouth go dry.

Not sure if it’s fun or silly, but they all end up having at least one thing in common with me. Whether that be a personality trait or just a hobby. For example: Zael and I both love to read (although I’m not a fan of romance novels, trashy or otherwise), Kamaria and I both adore plants, and I don’t even want to talk about how many things Anselm and I have in common. Also quite a few of my OCs (Dragon Age and otherwise) have RBF like me.

🪲Anselm- How unapologetically nerdy he is. He dgaf what other people think about his passions, he loves what he loves. Also Ans’ abundance of tattoos. I just think they’re neat. 🤷🏻♀️
🌻Kamaria- The fact that her mind runs 400 miles a minute, yet she’s still able to function and speak like a normal person (usually). Mari always has so many things running through her head at once.
🔱Sovran- Probably his tendency to deflect any and all seriousness with humor. Sov be dealing with some shit and all he does is make jokes about it. I too have this…gift?
🐈⬛Zael- Honestly just how grumpy he is. Z’s default mood is angry/irritated/enraged. The only time he’s content is when he’s home reading a book with Chiara on his lap and a pint of gelato next to him.
🎀Desiree- Hmmm. Probably their loyalty? It can be hard to bring down Desi’s walls, but once you’ve made friends with them they are ride or die.
✨Leonidas- How many (figurative) masks he wears/keeps track of. Although he wears literal masks too, sometimes. Leon is a damn chameleon and can fit in with almost any crowd if he tries.
🌟Astaarit- The fact that she is completely confident in herself and who she is, and doesn’t give one single fuck what anyone else thinks about her.
💀Elke- Her quiet confidence in her work. Elke has serious self-doubt, but she never falters when it comes to the things that she knows she’s good at.
💥Shukaku- His spontaneity. It’s hard to tell what he’ll do next. Even I don’t know half the time, and he’s my OC! When I write something with Shu in it I’m following his lead.
🔥Ryke- I think it’s probably his subtle pettiness. Like yes Ryke is a paragon of stoicism and wise decisions. But they’ll also absolutely hide Davrin’s knife and/or his wood supply if he pisses them off.
