i just don't think i managed to find what i was originally looking for? i want something that is mostly text message based, or at least heavily so?

give me an online dating plot or some kind of general long distance plot. i do have a soft spot for celeb plots or people who are wealthy. either with other celebs or with someone from a more working class background. i have a strong preference for ships where both characters identify as male, but that's not written in stone necessarily? that is just where i'm most comfortable.

i should say that while i am looking for something that is mostly text message based that isn't to say we will never do actual threads. i'm all for threading out them meeting for the first time and them moving to be closer/whatever else we discuss.

really only looking for m/m plots at this time. mayhaps one day i will go back to doing hetero ships, but for the time being that's not really something that interests me. i don't have a robust collection of muses that i pull out of rotation, that's just never been how i rp... if you see a guy on my main blog [ blakegallo ] the odds are that i would use them as a face. because i cut my teeth on forums i do typically only use actors, musicians, and the occasional model as faces; i typically steer clear of people who social media people. it's really just a matter of personal preference. i am willing to consider a fandom based rp, but would prefer something that is more oc x oc.

as far as preferences go i do write in the third person past tense. i don't really have any interest in breaking the discord message character limit for replies. i would never do a one liner, but a nice well developed paragraph or two is usually good enough for me. i like there to be something to respond to and get a nice back and forth going. i've seen a lot in my decade plus in the rp community and i've definitely done responses that are what the girlies call novella length now and that's just not something i'm super invested in returning to at this time. i don't have any interest in rping in dms, i think that things are just more organized in a private server. i also prefer for new threads to be individual channels just because i find that easier to scroll back through than one general channel, but that's me. i am a tupperbox girlie... and so i do have a slight preference for using them. it's not a requirement by any means, i have more 1x1s that don't use them currently than do, but just throwing that out there. i also find that doing something mumu is just easier for me with the tupperbot, but we can make it work if you aren't for it.

as a sidenote, i also do really love text threads. in my time perusing the the tags i'm not sure if this common because so many of the requests i see are for the novella level girlies. but sometimes i might have time for some quick banter between our characters. i also find that characters texting leads to where a next thread should go. as a vibes girlie i just like letting the characters sort things out sometimes than us as muns going back and forth figuring out where the plot should take them next.

plotting for me tends to be more organic. i really don't like to get too far ahead of ourselves. to me it's like writing a romance novel, we know these characters are eventually going to get together, but the journey to that destination can be whatever we make for it. so the ups and downs and angst along the way is what makes it fun. obviously i'm all for tossing ideas back and forth about how we think we should handle something or where we should go next, but i don't really have any interest in outlining the whole journey and then just hitting the beats.

i feel like i should start this by saying this has nothing to do with scooby doo, and the characters in no way need to reflect the characters from scooby doo, i just a graphic and a cute name for the #aesthetic. this is your standard friend group request, just for the 30+ crowd, the group of people that used to be young hollywood crowd back in the 90s and early 00s. it’s not important to me for them to all have been actors, or for them to still be in the same field now. like if you wanted to have someone that at the time was known was a pop idol and now was running a fashion empire i think that’d be great. or maybe they just aren’t in the fame game anymore and were focusing on leading a normal life, all great things. thins is another very vague and very open thing. we can talk specific dynamics between everyone at a later date via a discord chat. for now i’ll limit this to six, willing to go up to ten if there’s a lot of interest. just to keep the spirit of the rich friendship intact. genders/sexuality/races are all open.

      ► one of the children of tandy easton, half-brother to up and coming actor noah easton. his name might be cary, but he's almost alwyas insisted by going by cj.       ► his father was a director that peaked with a low budget movie whose only recognition came from the golden raspberry awards.       ► has been in the industry literally before he could talk, but his breakout role was in the 90s teen classic, wild youth, a show known for pushing the boundaries of what teen dramas were known for. being just 15 when he was cast his world seeming changed overnight. the entire time he shot the show is sort of a whirlwind experience and it's something that he has a complicated relationship with the show. he's happy to have had the experience ance to have been a part of something that was so special and paved the way for other shows, but at the same time he lost out on having a normal high school/college experience because he lived and breathed that show from 15-22.       ► making friends has never been something that he's excelled at. a lot of the people that he knows are from the work he's done or just from the simple act of being around people all the time. he's not the go out and party type of person, that's just not the frequency that he vibes to and so the selection of people that he spends his free time with would more than likely be a closeknit group of people that understand that cj is going to make a shitty comment about everything at least once.       ► his more recent filmography is definitely still a work in progress, but cj has always been drawn to interesting roles and so standard sitcoms probably aren't his things. this is really just my way of saying that i'll be stalking the tag for movies to throw cj at...

[ the needs ]

wild youth premiered to american audiences in the fall of 1998 to almost universal skepticism. despite the skepticism the show ran for seven seasons, with the last episode airing in spring 2005. 

set in the fictional down of aston bay, california the first four seasons of the show centered mainly around a core group of six friends as they navigated the equally fictional aston bay high. by season five the show had transitioned to  seaview university with a few new additions to the cast.

cast information and things will be under a cut just incase i start to ramble. at the time the show was known for pushing the edge of the envelope in terms of content for a teen drama of the time. if there’s enough interest and such then i’ll eventually make a discord channel for it to discuss specifics and things. think boy meets world/saved by the bell but like... meets skins in the late 90s/early 00s, though warning for a brief mention of addiction under the cut.

the ramble

his first name might be memphis, but that was his dad’s name and seeing as he’s not really around and they don’t have much of a relationship it’s probably best that you stick to harlow. odds are that he’s introduced himself to you as harlow to avoid the awkward “don’t call me memphis” discussion.

has lived in magnolia his whole life, and the closest he ever got to leaving was spending the past 9ish years commuting to austin for college. [ though even then that’s not entirely accurate as there was a good three year stretch where harlow wasn’t in school and was working at uncle earl’s full time. ]

as far as harlow is concerned he’s infamous for being a thot on instagram. #thirsttraps aren’t just for thursdays as far as he’s concerned, and when he was just waiting tables and learning about child development it didn’t feel like a problem, and now he’s trying to  reconcile the fact that a bunch of kids will be calling him mr. cohen on a daily basis and maybe having pictures of his ass out on instagram might not be the best idea he’s ever had.

in a lot of ways he’s a standard, peaked in high school kind of story. school was his bitch and then life made him its bitch  and it’s been a struggle for him to turn that around and he’s really only just started to turn that around. #BenefitsBitch

this is more a public ramble of a couple rough ideas for my boy here than an actual character blurb. ideally he’s part of a large-ish family, there are a couple of those floating around in the tags so i’ll probably hit up one of those for that. spent the time since graduating from high school being an instagram thot and working at a diner of some kinid while going to school part time. trying to be less of an instagram thot now that he’s not serving fries and milkshakes and is shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
