C19 - Shelter in Place for CA 3.19.20
Itβs been awhile since Iβve written here. The lastΒ βpostβ from 2015 - 5 years ago! - but that doesnβt really count as itβs from when my I still linked my Instagram to my Tumblr and it would auto post my entries. My lastΒ βreal postβ unsure......
But I feel, something in my gut, is telling me to capture this moment. Itβs gonna be the turning point. Iβm hoping for better, but not sure, could be for worse.Β
Earlier tonight, Gov Newsome of CA called for aΒ βshelter in placeβ for the state of CA. Mayor Garcetti put in place aΒ βsafer at homeβ policy. Same thing, diff wording - maybe a way to curtail any (additional) panic.Β
Today I feel is definitely a turning point to me. Up until now, Iβve been calm and collected - as I tend to be in high stress or serious, emergency type situations. Iβm the one that you can count on to be even keel, stone faced, logic driven, not emotional. And not that Iβm starting to panic now, but up until now Iβve been informed, but not media obsessed. While some worried, I (in my kum-by-ah soul) was experiencing this situation through a cosmic lens. Not of this world or time frame, but from a universal time frame and purview/spectrum. Weβve been abusing this land for how long now, mother earth is standing up for herself (how timely, sheβs having her own βMe Tooβ coming of age) and saying NO, STOP, YOU CANβT ABUSE ME ANYMORE. The silver lining of this experience - slowing down, reconnecting with oneself, oneβs community, compassion for those outside our circles, seeing each other as mortal humans, not China or US or Democrats and Republicans.Β Β
But tonight, Iβve returned to my mortal state. Looking through the eyes of Jess. In this body, on this planet, in this time and have allowed myself to feel the gravity of the situation. Perhaps, itβs just hitting me now. My feelings tend to be delayed - Iβve learned this about myself. Itβs great for survival but keeps me removed from true experience, reality.Β Β
People are dying. DYING. A lot of elderly, but not all. Lee told me that theyβre finding that people who survive the virus have 20% reduced lung capacity. For any active person, thatβs a permanent shift in lifestyle. 1% of a lot....is a lot.Β Β
