My dad just told me that when he was my age he tripped on acid a lot and every time he tripped he found the meaning of life but by the time he was sober he had forgotten it. So, he told himself that the next time he tripped he would write it down. So he tripped again, and went and wrote it down and when he woke up he was so excited to see everything that he wrote so he went and opened the notebook and all it said was “orange juice”.

This was the year I grew comfortable with being the second choice. This is the year where the sun began to shine only for me to realize the absence of things. So maybe I always giving more. Maybe no one ever met me halfway. This was the year where I began making excuses for the people I loved. This was the year where I confused the hurt for love and gave more second chances than I should have. This was the year where I put aside my worth and allowed myself to be forgotten about. This was the year in which I stopped begging for any of them to look my way and made myself easy to find in the moments in which they were alone. This was the year I cut myself open and forgot about my pride. This was the year where I learned too much of a good thing can be bad. I am one of those things and so is forgiveness.
