Detention Dissension || Star and Amy

This wasn’t Amy’s first detention. Over the seven years she had been at Hogwarts, she had had quite a few detentions, more than she --or her mother-- would’ve liked.  It wasn’t that she was a troublemaker, because she wasn’t.  She just had a habit of talking too much, and sometimes the teachers got tired of it.  It was annoying, but she couldn’t really argue that it was unfair.

I thought so. [claps excitedly] Yes, I am so totally down!

Perfect! Let’s get started then, shall we?

“Very nice! I just know enough to hit on people. Spanish and Russian don’t exactly come across as sexy like French does.” Nyx chuckled as they walked to their table. “Why leave France to come here?”

Amy laughed. “Very true. Not many languages do. So you know Spanish and Russian? How cool.” She sighed. “Well, my mother never gave me the full story, but I think it had to do with a guy. I’m not sure. I was really young, so I don’t actually remember living in France, just visiting, but we visit so often it’s really like living in both countries. It’s nice here, though. I mean, the fashion is better in France, but other than that, the two are mostly even.”

Exactly! I tend to wear sleeveless things on hot days though, so it’s not as big of an issue. True, or even a one piece for those more modest. You know what else would be good in this heat; a water balloon fight.

A wise choice. -pauses, and smiles- I agree. Let’s see how many people we can have join us, shall we?

“Ah, French, a language I have never fully learned. Are you fluent?” Nyx said after telling the hostess the reservation time.

“Oui,” Amy said with a smile. “My mother is French, and we spent a lot of time in France, so I couldn’t not learn it. And it’s such a beautiful language.”

“Good cause I’m a bit more than a wee bit peckish.” Nyx held the door open, “Después de ti”

“Merci,” Amy said, switching to her own language as she entered the restaurant.

“Sure, I would love to!”

“Cool. Let’s get going then.” Nyx pointed in the direction of the restaurant. “Thank you, by the way. I’m Nyx.”

“Great.” Amy followed Nyx in the direction she had pointed. “Oh, it’s not a problem at all. Nyx? That’s a pretty name. I’m Amy.”
