today, i watched the new kafka movie. despite me missing dora dymant, i really enjoyed the artistic, surreal narrative techniques of kafka's life, literary work and his present day reception. may write a more detailed review at some point – unfortunately i am very busy with studies currently.

this day 101 years ago, kafka passed away just a month before his 41st birthday. the picture shows the german & czech versions of his death notice. i tried to translate it:

on my visit to hildesheim, i've came across this art-piece, which pays tribute to the synagogue, that once stood on this ground & was destroyed in the reichspogromnacht of the 9th november in 1938. created in 1988, it depicts both biblical imagery, as well as painful memories of the shoah. read more here.
