Rain World Alphabet Nerd

Me and a friend have been developing this conlang thing for use in co-op play, both for immersion and so we don’t need to constantly pause to type things. I call it slugsign :-)

I should note that neither of us know ANYTHING about language structure or conlanging, we just developed it naturally lol.

some grammar notes:

-’punctuation’ style signs (such as ‘question’, ’attention’, ’relax’) come before the rest of the sentence. this is for clarity of intent

-’relax’ can be used to initiate longer, more complex conversations

-signs are VERY position specific. the limitations of the medium make a lot of signs look similar, so using the right starting and ending positions are important.

Nergigante is nature's perfect supersoldier, keeping the ecosystem balanced by destroying any and all beings that threaten to disrupt it. The Elder Dragons are these magical, unknowable creatures that don't adhere to the laws of physics and cause disasters just by existing, and it's Nergigante's job to keep them in line. How does Nergi do this? Does Nergigante have any special, equally magical powers that can negate the Elder Dragons? No. It just hits them until they stop moving.

Nergigante is just really, really, really strong. Huge, rippling muscles. Infinitely regenerating scales. Big, sharp spikes. If it decides it wants you gone, there's nary a thing you can do to stop it. Even if you beat it down, it just comes back. You can't ever permanently kill it; it can regrow entirely from a single thorn, and it's constantly leaving those thorns all over the place. Nergigante's power is that it just doesn't ever stop coming at you.

He is just hands. He eats elder dragons because he fucking can. He doesn’t have to. He could just eat jagras or aptonoth like a normal dragon, but no.

He only eats elder dragons because throwing hands is just that fun, and he can.

The reason Zorah Magdaros was running to the new world was because of a Nergigante. And if Zorah Fucking Magdaros felt the need to RUN AWAY from a single Nergigante, it must be because it thinks Nerg stands a fair chance at bringing it down. He doesn’t even really fight Rajang, just swats him away when it gets an uppercut in. Pickle gets one good hit in and then gets PUNKED.

It straight up Executed Shara Ishvalda. I’m willing to wager that it only didn’t show up to throw hands with Safi’jiiva and Fatalis because it didn’t know where they were, because having seen that a literal mountain is on the menu, you already know the a stupider one than the Specimen that killed Shara would give the Black Dragons at least a good go before being torched. I like thinking there is just one nerg out there, one absolute champion ruiner nergigante that killed shara, and would look Black Dragons in the eye.

I lowkey wonder if the leviathan whale is the actual size of it and the normal ones are just for game convenience. After all they don't need to be that small, they're still whales!
