Amie Mouse

Seeing Amie disappear behind a tree, Ellie giggled softly, trying to quiet her footsteps to sneak up on the brunette. Finally close enough, she tossed the snowball, hitting Amie’s arm as she ran from the tree. “No taking it back now, Amie! This is a winter war you’ve started, and we have to finish it!”

Amie squeaked as the snowball hit her in the arm. She giggled as it bursts onto her hair and cheek. “I surrender, I surrender,” she called. Though Amie continued building ammunition and launching it aimlessly. 

(Chews his lip) Sure, we can do that. You’re pretty busy now then?

Well, yeah.. I’ve got a study group meeting for our history test tomorrow. Walk me to library? We can chat on the way? [just starts walking assuming he’s coming]

You. are very special. [pauses kissing him and looks him in the eyes] I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn’t something about you at all. It was just you.

Have you been avoiding me?

Oh! Will--no, no of course not. But I’m actually on the way to the library...um could we maybe talk later?

Amie laughed and ducked behind a snow flocked tree. “Oh noooo,” she called, darting down to quickly form another snowball. “I had no idea. I take it back!” she called between giggles. 

No… I’m no good at big entrances. I think if I really mattered to people I’d eventually run into them sooner or later.

That’s a good point. 

I’m doing well, thanks Aims. Haven’t seen you in so long, how have you been?

Oh, so busy. Drowning in school work, I barely have time for friends or Will even. But otherwise good, better now that you’re back here. Shall we grab coffee, or do something together?

“You’re so tiny and dimpley I love you. Want to come over to my house so I can catch you up? Well, apartment not a house but yes please come over?” 

“Oh goodness, coming from a gazelle. Oo yes, yes that sounds lovely.”

You flatterer, you. (he takes her hand) Come on, I’m pretty sure we hit a dead end one turn back. 

Well you know me, I can never sit still for too long. Always finding something to do and all. [chuckles] You study? Awe Mouse, you don’t need to study. I’m pretty sure you already know most of it. Oh! I almost forgot. Merry Christmas Mouse. I know it’s a little early but I couldn’t wait any longer. [gives her a big wrapped bow with a candle and book collection in it as well as a separate small wrapped box] 

Of course I study [laughs]. Oh Nuka! I’m afraid I don’t have your present with me. Oh this smells amazing, oh goodness, these are lovely. Nuka, you really shouldn’t have gotten me all this. [opens the little box].

“That’s what I’ve heard. Midterms and finals in high school, neven for my senior year, seem nothing in comparison to college stress. Though hopefully my application to the University will be accepted soon.” Ellie’s face lit up, and she nodded enthusiastically. “Of course!” Handing a sheet of elegant paper and a pen to Amie, Ellie sat back, in tern pulling out an unfinished letter of her own. “To whom are you writing, if I may ask?”

“Oh I’m sure it will,” she said encouragingly. “You seem quite qualified.” Amie tapped her chin in thought. “Hmm, perhaps I’ll send one to my parents. Or I could write it to Will. Or maybe another friend,” she said. 

I never get much of a welcome every time I return. I think its just catching up with all the familiar faces that make it a welcome.

Well maybe it’s because you sneak in all quiet like you haven’t been gone forever. You should make bigger entrances. [winks]

Amie? I didn’t realise it was you I’d run into.

[blushes] Oh goodness, you’re too sweet. How could I not be when I run into you? I’m so glad you’re here. How are you?

I can’t say I’m bad at all! I was meant to arrive a little earlier after my visit home but I kept putting it off. I’m glad to be back though, it’s always good to see an old friend.

I’m glad you made it all the same. [loops her arm through Emerie’] Have you been well welcomed back? Things have changed quite a bit.
