Jewel beetle wings are SO lovely. I may or may not end up using the leftovers from my earrings project to do some embroidery like this. (Also who needs synthetic wings. Just get ‘em from a source that lets the beetles live their natural lives before harvesting the wings, like how butterfly wings are done. Their lifespans are quite short, depending on species ranging from two days to two weeks, there’s really not much reason to go around killing them when you can easily just wait til they’re done anyway, it’s really not hard to find ethical beetle wings. Some people and their ignorance about the world, smh.)
