in light of recent events i am regrettably going back to cohost.

you can find me @ radio and find my art @ radiowlet with probably more copies of my various sideblogs in the future. as an artist the midjourney partnership is absolutely unacceptable and thats not even to mention the CEO's recent behavior. i wont post my art here and I wont give them my ad views (i use mobile, dont have storage space for firefox, cant block ads.)

ill be around a little bit just for a few webcomics i follow+to support friends of mine who arent leaving yet but other than that dont expect to see much of me here anymore.

if anyone knows any other alternative sites feel free to reach out (but note i have the shadowban bug so messaging me wont be an option. you can still send me asks you just wont get notified when i respond to them. or just comment on this post)

hi so uh. I was really excited abt this blog but im not comfortable posting my art on Tumblr anymore unless things change. I don't know how many people in the AA fandom use cohost (if any) but if there's any interest I'll probably make a sideblog on cohost for this stuff. ill also be posting anything I make in the spire discord server

What was the queer scene like in Arcadia?!

Seriously, what was it?! What did the subculture develop into? How were queer meet-ups done? Not only was it stuck in time, but also on TV since the seventies?! Did viewers push for more rep while those wanting Arcadia-born citizens to be free were like 'Priorities! Maybe we should push for them to be let out rather than being out in a human zoo to an audience they don't even know'. And then discourse because of course.

I mean, I kinda think that while aesthetics remained '70s, women's rights and civil rights would've progressed in Arcadia just for the sake of keeping up with the audience's standards. To be a safe version of the '70s and not one that would piss viewers off. But queer rep is still having trouble being seen as 'appropriate' today, and so would queer rights have progressed in Arcadia?

These are the questions, people!

Been thinking abt this too!! I thought that Walton media would at least attempt to keep openly queer folks to a minimum considering it’s a widely popular tv show that streams worldwide, and a lot of countries wouldn’t be cool with that kind of thing, how they would do this hi have no idea. Maybe restricting the track cameras of openly queer Arcadians? Or just restricting info and education abt queer stuff inside Arcadia.

my partner and I were actually having a conversation abt this the other day! we came to a similar conclusion that queer stuff would've been somewhat suppressed in arcadia Especially from the viewers' pov, and that WM would absolutely do rainbow capitalism. we joked that they'd allow One (1) queer kiss to air during pride month and make a big deal about it every time and then flip back around the moment June ends.

I think queer people absolutely do exist in arcadia and I would Hope they aren't super oppressed but I think they also wouldn't be like...as common knowledge in the city as on the outside, just by virtue of a lack of visibility in media and some amount of suppression of info, not because WM hates the gays but because the less people who know they're queer, the less censorship work they have to do.
