January Wrap Up

Considering I read about five books in total last year I’m happy that I’ve read five in January!

Good Omens 5/5

I started this last year (and forgot to finish it for months!) but I honestly loved it! The little (and sometimes not so little) footnotes were incredible. Though I did find myself trying to read them before actually reading the page!

Dear Evan Hansen 3.5/5

Disclaimer I haven’t seen the show yet but listen to the album regularly. The book was enjoyable, the addition of Connor’s point of view was a great way to add to the story and the character. I know Evan isn’t a good person and does bad things but you can’t help feeling bad for him! It’s nice being able to link the lyrics into parts of the story however, when Zoe has her songs I found the amount of lyrics more annoying and would skip ahead. I’m definitely interested to be able to compare it to the stage show (and the film) eventually.

Midnight Sun 3/5

I was a Twilight fan when I was younger but have since got rid of the books as I would never read them again. But when I found out this book was actually coming out I had to read it (and I kept seeing Twilight everywhere). I did read the leaked pages years ago and completely forgot about it.

Reading it after all these years made the book almost amusing. Edward is not a likeable character half of the book is spent thinking about killing Bella or stalking her. Some of it is long winded tangents that can go on so long that you forget a story was being told or that he was just sitting in class! But I will admit I enjoyed reading this. So much that it only took me three or four days to read it. The story was so easy to read especially because it was a story you already knew.

I have no words! I loved this. The drawings the story I need to read more! Seeing a character that is out and comfortable and another that is coming to terms with his feelings is great. Plus the story is just the sweetest!

Parts of this story I loved! But parts I found hard to get through. This was my first time reading Orwell (and the first time in ages reading a classic) so I’m sure a few of my issues were just personal adjustments and usually read stuff that is easy to get through.
