"I guess this is the one," Amy says out loud to no one in particular as she stands at the entrance of a not-so-big cave, one hand on her hip. She had been hearing rumors of this cave for a while, but only lately had some really come up with (somewhat) photo evidence that there was something really in here.
"Should I just go in like that- wait, Amy, of course you should! Why in the world would you wait for them to catch you off guard if…" she thinks as she shakes her head and starts to walk into the cave.
"Wow, this cave is a bit deep…" she mutters to herself. "And cold too," she shivers. Just as she starts to think she should have gotten a jacket, she hears a sound, just the slightest clank, kind of like something she would hear in Tails' workroom.
She pulls her hammer and starts to follow the small but constant noises that she's hearing. Even if she knew that it might cause damage to the nearby village, deep down she was secretly hoping for a fight. She'd been cooped up in the resistance and hadn't got to bang something up in a whi- shit! She tripped. She tried to stop herself from falling, but in doing so, her hammer fell to the ground, making a loud bang.
"Oh fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck-" the small banging stopped, and the cave was filled with silence. Amy picked up her hammer, preparing for a fight, when she heard a voice that sounded way too familiar.
"Is anyone there?" Then footsteps, and after a few beats, "Huginn, I swear if you're trying to-"
"Oh fuck," the person said, coming out of the shadows.
"TAILS??" - @ameliarosespecks
A familiar voice comes out from within the cave after the banging ceases. The same high-pitched, slightly-raspy voice of a well-known two-tailed fox. Although if you listen well enough, it sounds slightly lower and less bubbly.
Nine had been working on fixing what he can with his mechanical tails, just making sure it doesn't fall apart on him at the very least.
Upon noticing that someone may have entered the cave, Nine quickly goes to investigate. That bird did say that they would let Nine borrow an old cloak of theirs, so it's only natural to assume it could be Hunginn. Well, the signature was merely an 'H', but Nine wouldn't think some stranger would offer something. (Isn't Hunginn still technically a stranger?)
Although, as he makes it closer to the sound, that really doesn't make sense. As far as Nine has seen, the raven is silent other than the jingling of feathers and cartilage. Additionally, as mentioned before, there's no confirmation that it's the bird who sent that message.
And what do you know, it's Rust- no- Nine has to stop thinking it's the counterparts from his dimension. This is another Rose, it seems. Nine vaguely remembers Sonic mentioning her name- but he can't be bothered to remember as SHE'S IN HIS FUCKING CAVE.
Nine's fur immediately bristles up, and he stands defensively. His anger flares up sharply as he hears the name the pink hedgehog had called him. Of course, his mechanical tails were left deeper in the cave- it's not particularly convenient for him to jump up and scuttle along the walls without them. He's not a spider after all.
The fox hisses aggressively, his two tails twisting together habitually.
As the two tailed fox emerges from the shadows, Amy recognizes him as... well Tails. The facial features, the tails, even the fur color, although it's slightly duller and.... thinner? His tails also lack the usual fluff and plush-ness that Tails' tails would usually hold.
