I’m drowning…
I’m getting fatigued.
I’ve tried to stay above the water.
I was thrown off the ship, tossed around- hit by wave after wave.
I was taught to swim, so I paddle to stay afloat.
My life jacket has holes, I try to cover them with my hand and still try swim.
I’ve been in the water for years, searching for something that can save me or help me, but I can’t find anything in this vast ocean.
I thought I would be ok.
I thought, being able to paddle my way until I find land.
I’m tired.
Looking at the sky, I see the stars and see endless possibilities that aren’t in my reach.
The thought of- I’m drowning, I’m going to die passes though my mind as I try to preserve my strength for the next minutes of paddling.
Another wave comes, I’m pushed down.
Im getting too fatigued to get up, but my life jacket brings me up.
I don’t know what to do.
I’m stuck.
I’m stuck getting hit by waves.
Of course, I get little increments of time where the water is calm, and the sun hits just right and I’m able to stay afloat with no trouble but then,
Another wave.
Im kicking to stay up, but water gets in my mouth.
I don’t know what to do.
I’m fatigued, too tired to keep up.
I don’t want to drown.
But my life jacket has holes, the waves hit me and now my arms and legs won’t keep me afloat.
I’m drowning.
