“Yep. You want it now or..?” She clearly wasn’t good at this. Not used to it would be a better way to put it.
“Uh, yeah, sure.” Dean said a nod, setting his bagel down. He definitely hadn’t expected this.
Jane rolled over onto her stomach and reached down the side of the hotel room bed. After struggling for a minute, she pulled up a neatly wrapped gift. It was flat, and even had a red bow on it. She offered it to the man, hidden excitement threatening to spill.
Inside was a leather jacket, dark brown and reminiscent to the one he owned as Jon Moxley. She knew his other was faded, or most likely gone, and it made her feel so Goddamn nostalgic.
Dean took the box and opened it, a wide grin spreading across his face once he saw the jacket inside.
“No way,” he started as he pulled the jacket from the box. It looked so close to the one he’d had years ago. He couldn’t even tell you when he’d gotten rid of it, long lost somewhere in his traveling.
Dean didn’t hesitate in pulling it on over his shoulders. “I can’t believe you found this. It’s almost exactly like the old one.”
A relieved smile washed over her face, sincere and genuine. A small blush rose to her cheeks at his disbelief and clear adoration of what she had given him. She felt rather accomplished, and thought his wonder was adorable.
“Yep.” She popped the ‘p’. “I know! I don’t even know how I found it. It was just… it just appeared. And despite the colour being a fraction off, and a few zippers, it looks identical. I hope you like it.” Her voice lowered towards the end, as if she were embarrassed to be asking his approval.
“Like it?” Dean echoed before he shook his head. “I’ve had it five seconds and I’m in love with the damn thing.” He said as he gripped the sides of it to pull it up closer towards his neck. “Wish they’d let me wear it to the ring like I used to.” He added as an afterthought.
Her smile grew, involuntarily, mind you, but it grew nonetheless. Her blush faded ever so slightly, and she fell back onto the bed, sighing in relief. “Glad you actually like it!”
She sat up and shifted so she lay on her stomach, head in her hands. “You could wear it promos. In photoshoots perhaps. You’ll get a lot of opportunities, kiddo! Do I get a thanks, or?” She joked, though it may have been hard to tell.
Dean laughed at the joke, pulling the jacket off again. “Thank you.” It was said inbetween some small laughs but obviously genuine. “It’s definitely the best present I’ve gotten.”
“Come here,” Jane jokingly demanded, waving him over. “I have a better present, something else nostalgic!”
Dean put the jacket back in the box before following Jane’s beckoning. “I don’t know how you’re gonna top the nostalgia factor on that one.”
Jane simply smiled, reached out, grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him into a kiss. She held it for a moment before letting go, “Happy nostalgia!”
Dean laughed again once Jane had let him go though he didn’t move backward. “Alright. You definitely topped it. I’ll give you that one.”
She winked at him, “So, what does the birthday boy want to do?”
Dean shrugged. “I dunno. I hadn’t really planned on doing anything, anyway.”
“Oh.” She was genuinely surprised by this news. “Well, I expected more. How about a lazy day?”
“Let me guess,” Dean started as he moved the box off the bed and onto the small table I’m the room. “You expected bar hopping or a party or something right?” The ways he used to celebrate. He might not have given up drinking but he had the other side of it. He finally shrugged. “A lazy day sounds fine by me.”
“Perhaps I was. Perhaps I was expecting you, Dean, to have something planned for your big day. Apparently not, though.” Her shoulders shrugged in a physical display of ‘meh’. “Cool! I could do with more pizza.”
Dean shrugged, mumbling as he pulled his phone of his pocket that he didn't think it was a big deal. "I'll order more." He said, tapping at the phones screen. "You want the same as last night?"
