Would You Press The Button?
The first one would be a piece of cake. I hate re-watching movies. I also don't like re-reading books. The other buttons are a trickier decision.
You know it's been a busy day when it's 2pm and your phone still has 94% battery left.
Whole30 day 18 Food boredom is real. I'm eating whatever leftover containers I find in the fridge for lunch because nothing sounds good. A bit of egg salad was first, now this tiny amount of ground beef, next will probably be some spaghetti squash and maybe a chunk of chicken or mellon. Tacos (lettuce shells) are for supper, and I'm not excited. That half eaten pb&j sandwich my 4 year old left on the table looks pretty good though.....
Mom tip of the day
When a recipe calls for less than 1 onion, go ahead and chop the whole onion. Throw the onion you don’t need in a baggie and put it in the freezer. Then next time you need an onion you already have it chopped! No need to thaw before using! Be sure to mark on your bag how much of an onion is in it before it goes into the freezer. Half a chopped onion looks very similar to 3/4 a chopped onion once frozen.

"I won't vote for Hillary, if you don't vote for Trump and we will both vote for Gary Johnson." Very interesting and very tempting.
Halloween
My oldest has finally decided what he wants to be for Halloween. He wants to go as Jake and his brother and sister to go as Cubby and Izzy from Disney’s Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I finally found a great diy tutorial that I will follow at a blog called Two Feet First. The bonus with this tutorial is it has the diy for all three characters!
I got all my material for around $9 and that should cover me for Jake and Cubby’s vests, Cubby’s shorts, and Jake’s boot covers and belt. I’m not quite sure how extensive I’m going to make Izzy’s costume yet. My baby will only be 2 months old, so she may just wear a pink shirt and purple leggings.

It's almost heated blanket season.
Two year old says, "Go Hawks!" Another sewing creation. I upcycled an old shirt of my husbands that was ripped using a free raglan pattern found at Duck Butt Designs. I used a size three, but this was a tad tight, also the neck is pretty small and hard to get on his head. He is 90th percentile for head size, so a normal kid's head may fit just fine. Easy, quick, and FREE sew! Go hawks!
I haven't posted many of my sewing creations lately, but here is one I whipped up while pregnant. It's a Muse playsuit from stitchuponatime.com size 0-3 months. Little miss didn't fit in the newborn size I made her. She's 8 lb 4 oz and fits in the 0-3 month perfectly! Fabric is from Joanns.

We had a baby! She was born last Wednesday at 11:08 pm. Long uneventful induction until 10:50pm when I felt her go crazy in my tummy. She got herself turned from sunny side up to face down, like she was supposed to be. That crazy movement made me vomit and with that heaving, I pretty much had her pushed out. She went from a -1 to a +2 station when the nurse checked me after I was done vomiting. Five pushes in two contractions later, she was out! Apparently, I lost about 500ml of blood after delivery, but thankfully, it didn’t seem to effect me and was stopped quickly by a shot of something. They are blaming it on my redheaded-ness.
She’s a sleepy baby so far and not much of a crier. Breastfeeding is going fantastic. She seems to latch well and hasn’t caused me any real pain. With my boys it took me 4-6 weeks to be pain free, so I’m lucky so far!
As for postpartum stuff, headache is the theme of the recovery. It’s around 80% of the time. Awful. Keeping a close eye for other signs of preeclampsia. I’m guessing it’s just a hormonal headache and not related to the epidural. Percocet is my friend right now. I just need to make sure I take care of me to keep this headache under control. Eating, drinking, sleeping, and relaxing are important.
One last thing, I hate postpartum boobs. They are huge, hard, and painful. These things need to balance out quickly. Blah.
Eta- She was 8lbs 4.5 oz, 20.5 inches long. She's my smallest baby by 6oz!
37 weeks
Haven't posted in a long time, but I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Due August 20th, but my guess is baby will come August 25th via induction. She's a mover and loves kicking my ribs. Easy pregnancy for the most part. Not pleasant though and for sure my last. We have a baby name, but aren't 100% on the pronunciation. My boys are excited about baby, though I'm not sure they know exactly what's going on. They will soon enough! Shortly after baby is born, my 4 year old starts a new preschool. I forecast some tough transitions ahead!

yo that just saved me a summer of pain
Almost 21 years of living in fear of this Florida heat, and I NEVER thought of this. You saved me.
For my fellow Texans.

Amazing idea!
It's a girl!
Here is my latest sewing project! Matching seersucker shorts for my boys. They turned out super cute! Too bad it's supposed to be chilly tomorrow, or I'd have them wear them and get some pictures. I used the very versatile kids shorts pattern found at MadeEveryday.com. I did the options of a front pocket and flat front. They were very simple to sew and put together! http://www.madeeveryday.com/2013/06/sewing-kid-shorts-the-basic-shorts.html

Baby updates
We got news late last week from our MaterniT blood test that all looks healthy and normal. No signs of Down Syndrome. We are thankful that it baby is healthy and won't have extra challenges in life due to a disability. Now that we have that surprise done, we looked in our gender envelope that's been sitting in our cupboard for 3 weeks. We know the gender! No one else knows we know either... The boys' birthday party for family is Saturday and one of their presents will contain blue or pink balloons, so their present will be finding out if they are having a brother or sister in front of everyone. Hopefully, it's a fun, casual, way for everyone to find out without it being a big gender reveal thing.
Best investment of the spring. Seriously doesn't spill. It has been tossed, shook, and stored upside down with no leaks. Seriously everyone with a bubble loving toddler needs one.
